Wikipedia says his bones are in the hospital.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_London_Hospital

Answers.com says Jacko didn't buy the bones.

http://www.answers.com/topic/joseph-merrick

Absolute Astronomy says his bones are kept in the hospital.

http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/encyclope...on_Hospital.htm

Rotten.com (not exactly the most reliable, I know) says his bones are in the hospital.

http://www.rotten.com/library/sideshow/elephant-man/

NationMaster.com says his bones are at the hospital, most noteably "Merrick's preserved skeleton is on permanent display at the Royal London Hospital. Singer Michael Jackson is reported to have attempted to purchase it for his private collection in 1985 but was refused."

http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Joseph-Merrick

That proof enough?

If they say so, then it must be true?

The preist near me says theirs a god, so it must be true :S

Who knows.

Seriously, do you want me to ask Michael Jackson personally?

I don't understand what kind of proof you want, it's not like there's an authority on what Michael Jackson collects.

I think the fact that it's widely recognised as a rumour that he bought it, and possibly the fact that IT'S ON PERMANANT DISPLAY IN THE ROYAL LONDON HOSPITAL might point towards Michael jackson not owning it.

Then it appears that MJ doesnt own the bones, but it doesnt prove it.

Tell you what, next time I pop to the Royal London Hospital I'll take a picture

I'm tempted to persue the rumours he designed the ol' East stand at Filbert Street though!!

On a side note, Joseph Merrick is also rumoured to have helped to design the East Stand, also referred to as the matchstick stand at Filbert Street, last sentance here

And it became the `popular` stand too.

`matchstick`, i wonder if he designed the terrace, cant think how else matchsticks could look like other parts of the east stand.
