Guest Posted 6 May 2013 Posted 6 May 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-22425388 I guess it could be used nefariously but still another clever technological idea.
Jimothy Posted 6 May 2013 Posted 6 May 2013 Surely short people and midgets will be able to see it? Or just adults who crouch down? It's not the most amazing technology anyway, it's only like those video/DVD covers that change when you move them to look at them from a different angle

Guest Posted 6 May 2013 Posted 6 May 2013 It could be used as a way to advertise different things to different people and maximising space. Certainly a new way to target tall people.
Jimothy Posted 6 May 2013 Posted 6 May 2013 But do you go along the street adjusting your height to look at adverts? Well it's saying adults won't be able to see it, so won't be able to discourage children from calling the number. Well if adults really wanted to stop kids from calling it they can see the number if they really want to, just need to look at it from a different angle. You'd know look a knob but you'd get the number. If they had said it would only be visible to children because it would only be visible to eyes developed past a certain age, I'd be impressed.
Harry - LCFC Posted 6 May 2013 Posted 6 May 2013 It just sends out a poignant message, that's all. Adults won't see it but they know they can't see it - that's the point. That way the message comes across more effectively, they're more likely to remember it.
Webbo Posted 6 May 2013 Posted 6 May 2013 What if the message that only kids can see is saying "meet me in the public toilets and I'll give you some sweets"?
linemakers Posted 6 May 2013 Posted 6 May 2013 What about the abused child carried on someone's shoulders !
MooseBreath Posted 6 May 2013 Posted 6 May 2013 What about the abused child carried on someone's shoulders ! Or the child abused for being tall, or short, or partially sighted, or unable to read. It's a cheap gimmick. They'd have been better off spending the money on actually helping abused kids

MooseBreath Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 what money are you talking about? The money to pay for an ad? Plus the department full of stinking liberal arts students whose job it is to come up with gimmicky ideas like this
Guest Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 Or the child abused for being tall, or short, or partially sighted, or unable to read. Is there something you need to tell us Moosey? Was it your mother or your Father?
MooseBreath Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 Is there something you need to tell us Moosey? Was it your mother or your Father? It was your dad actually. He abused me because he didn't count you as a son. Too feminine, he said. He only likes boys.
