FuriousFox46 Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 A thread for stories in line with the very title.I feel obliged to start this thread given the disappointment from the last one I started.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Once upon a time there was an Irishman called Martin who decided on a change of scenery in his vocation and moved to Leicester. Although the job seemed simple to outsiders, Martin struggled with his new career path. Many onlookers who invariably considered that they knew better and could do the job themselves, simply for the love of it, begrudged the jovial Londonderry fellow a chance of success. It seemed for a while that there might be some creedance in the judgement of the baying masses, as Martin seemed to be losing his grip on the charges he had been given. Every week people would call for his dismissal, comment on how bad he was at his job and generally deride his abilities. Martin didn't let it get to him though. He ignored the vocal hordes of dissenters who were heaping ridicule upon him and continued to do things the best he could. He did things his way. Then one fateful day in May 1996 a young man from Portsmouth who was in his employment popped up to demonstrate how things were going to be from now on. Suddenly Martin was a hero! The rest is history.
