Facecloth Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 So that's why I never made it as a footballer! Damn my brown hair!
Bilo Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 He strikes me as a luxury player at the moment. Gallagher will always be the same and Knockaert could be argued to have been one last season, though he certainly works very hard for the team now. By that, I mean he's the kind of player who is great when you're up against opposition you can pass off the park and get on top. Against the likes of Yeovil and Barnsley, I've no doubt Hughes is a great player. The problem is that, like Gallagher for us, he goes missing when the going gets tough. He's too lightweight, doesn't seem to have the right attitude to muck in when things are going against the side and lets his head drop. For all his technical ability and passing prowess, he'll need to man up considerably if he wants to have the kind of career some pundits are talking about.
Corky Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Reminded me a bit of Andy King. Lots of technical ability but in a tough situation he struggled to impose himself on the game. James and Drinkwater are hardly thugs or really physical players, they just seemed to crowd him out of the midfield area. I've no doubt he's got some talent but people in the media have got carried away.
emmo1987 Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 It has zaha written all over it! Last year for palace yannick bolasie was better than zaha by a mile! And sky bummed zaha. So frustrating same with will Hughes. He may be decent in a few years but he ain't nothing special yet. Id have bryson over him anyday.
Mack Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 The Premier League would probably suit him better. More time, less physical etc. He looked lost the other night.
Haydos Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 I think a lot of players with good technical ability like Hughes are overrated. I would say that Knocky was until this season but he looks to have upped his work rate and I think you can actually see him thinking more on the pitch. Not seen much of Hughes but he's looks very promising with his ability, he just needs coaching to do the right things and play in the right way, I'd say he's pretty raw at the moment.
