MC Prussian Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 Apparently, FIFA executives have been part of a large-scale ticket touting operation, selling match tickets illegally at higher prices for close to twelve years and counting. Now, Brazilian police have arrested a leading member of the FIFA-close company Match Hospitality at Rio's famous Copacabana Palace hotel and are detaining several other accomplices. It's said that the dealer ring has been operating since the 2002 World Cup. The black market in Brazil saw scalpers trying to make a quick buck at extortionate prices, including tickets for this year's WC final priced at 11'500 Euro (£9'000). The first arrested person to be named is Ray Whelan, Sir Bobby Charlton's former agent. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/world-cup/10952715/World-Cup-2014-Ray-Whelan-English-director-of-Fifa-hospitality-partner-arrested-in-ticket-touting-probe.html

brisfox Posted 8 July 2014 Posted 8 July 2014 I am shocked, shocked, to find corruption at the highest level in FIFA. I am sure all football fans will be surprised that such an open organisation as FIFA would have crooks ripping off fans on an industrial scale.
