the birch annual run

in need of a bit of help here guys and gals

a few weeks ago, my step dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and we have recently found out that it has now spread too far and has become terminal.

so since last week I have been racking my brains as to what I can do to raise awareness, and raise as much money as I can, one of the things that came to me was the birch annual run.

now I realise he does it all for a certain charity,  but was wondering if anyone knows if anyone can take part, and if so can they participate for a certain charity of their own choice, as my idea is the money I raise would be split half to birches charity, and the rest to prostate cancer.

if anyone can help with any ideas of who to contact at the club or such, it would be a big help in my first steps to making something like this happen.

many thanks fellow city fans

Sorry to hear your news, very sad. London marathon has just released it's participants and I know that charities appeal for runners so you could apply to run for prostrate cancer. Obviously you'd have to raise a specific amount to qualify.

All the best.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Like him, I was diagnosed with cancer, this year. Mine was kidney cancer. Luckily, I had a good surgeon who was able to take it out. The day after I was diagnosed, Birch phoned me up. Him doing that, helped to give me real focus in getting better.

Each year I have a gang who help Birch with his annual run, Last May we had 80 collectors as part of the team. Why don't you get some mates together to help collect in your dads memory for the run next May?

As for joining Birch on the run, all the runners are sponsored with proceeds going to the Foxes Trust exclusively.IM me for further details
