Latest Fan Advisory Board (FAB) Meeting
David Lowe replied to jammie82uk's topic in Leicester City Forum
I wasn’t really suggesting discussion of individual players, just the overall situation. How are the club looking to go about putting out a better product on the pitch & how can a club of this size survive if it slips into non-league which is where we look to be heading. -
Latest Fan Advisory Board (FAB) Meeting
David Lowe replied to jammie82uk's topic in Leicester City Forum
Well this is all very good and it is correct that these issues are being discussed if raised by fans. But should these really be the main discussions when most fans are asking what on earth is happening to this club on the field and how this decline is going to be stopped! -
Is the squad good enough for L1?

I’m really not sure that these players have got a good reputation. McCarthy and BDR did not have a good reputation when we signed them and I can’t see teams being bothered about the other 3 even at this level. And aren’t the fees irrelevant? A player is only as good as what they are showing on the pitch. -

I just don't know why you think divisional rivals would jump for any of these players. We have youngsters with promise but none of them have shown that they are good enough for League One yet. Long standing players such as Thomas, Okoli and BDR have shown that they are hopeless at whatever level. Then there are the newcomers' I'm not sure that other teams would want many of them. McCarthy? Bristric? O'Hora? Cullen? -

Agree with this. The manager is not helping but I think we have issues in all areas. Even if he goes I can’t see how we are going to find a decent goalkeeper, defenders who can defend, wingers who can take on defenders and get crosses in or regular goal scorers from this squad. -
As far as I can remember it has never got to the stage of chanting in the stadium for the previous managers to go. Maybe that is required.
-
This is nonsense. Rodgers had a great record behind him so you could see why he would be given time. Martin does not.

Tommy Watson joins on season loan from Brighton - Official

Surely the scouts are just as culpable for all of this as the others. How can they watch some of these players and think they are the answer? -
Personally I think it will be all 19 back or nothing. Can’t see how it will be anything else as there is nothing about that in the rules.
-
I thought he went in at Oxford when they were in trouble and kept them up with a fine run.
-
There was definitely talk of what a good Championship record he had when we appointed him - didn’t he impress at Birmingham, Derby and Millwall?
-
Possibly but we said this with Marti. We replaced him with a manager who had a good Championship record but still went down.
-
This was as bad as the Oxford result for me. 1-0 up against a very poor side with a terrible home record and down to 10. Still can’t get a win and could easily have lost it at the end.

The inspectors are in at Headingley!
-
I guess it’s more difficult for a keeper to find somewhere that they will play regularly as most counties have a first choice keeper already.
-
Yes there was some sort of meeting today.
-
But weren’t the finances already out of control well before the FA Cup win with wages far too high as a percentage of turnover.
-
How do you know it was his decision alone?
-
I totally agree with you about Martin but where is the evidence that Rudkin has insisted on a failed style?
-
What evidence do you have that he has insisted on a failed style?
-
That is true but if the buck always stops at the top then that means we can’t put any blame on Martin for his poor decisions this season.
-
It’s not 90% Rudkin as there are all the other problems such as the managers, players, scouts, fitness etc

What is our rock bottom and when do we hit it?
David Lowe replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
We look likely to go down even without a points deduction. It’s then a case of whether we can continue to exist and if so can we do any better in League 2 which is debatable. You would hope that if we went to non league we would have too much for most teams but we really don’t know what sort of players we would have by that stage. -
What were the numerous brilliant chances?
-
Surprised you are still talking about ‘being up with the pacesetters’. It has become obvious already that this is going to be a grim battle against relegation.
