Leicester were flying high and his defensive limitations didn't matter much. Dyer was often double-banked when he played - something that created lots of space for others and did much to make Vardy's life easier among others. The other thing about Dyer was his willingness and effectiveness when defending. No he wasn't a natural defender but he was fast, strong and able to do the simple things adequately in the defensive half of the field. We've lost that defensive capability with Mahrez and I don't think he requires the same defensive attension either. He also cuts inside more than Dyer and therefore his runs don't naturally spread the opposing defence as much. I agree.
possiblygeorge Posted 10 July 2017 Posted 10 July 2017 Weird everyone stopped replying to this thread in November of the Great Escape season. Even in November it looked girm and we looked like going down. It's only take until now for someone to bump it
Guest Col city fan Posted 10 July 2017 Posted 10 July 2017 I reckon if we offload Cambiasso and replace him with a younger and fitter central midfielder...someone like Ngolo Kante (I've heard he's pretty good) we could even win the division! Honest.
