Yeah, so, I was going to buy one of these - and then I thought... I have to justify my spends now... I'll ask the good folk of Foxestalk and then I almost didn't but now I have done.

 

So - what do you reckon? 

 

One of the pluses, is streaming from PC through PLEX, or through phone (I have a 60 inch tv)... but I'm not currently a member of any of the streaming subscription services although the wife is keen on netflix. 

Do they work well? I reckon by moving any football streams over to the TV, I can give sky the boot too.

 

So whats the verdict? Are they good? Do they work well? Do they crash a lot like my FIL's old roku stick thing? Are they really 5x quicker? Would you recommend a purchase? Apparently there are 1,000s of apps. What can I use it for that I haven't thought of?

 

Oh - I'm a big fan of spotify and I've been frustrated that there is no other way to stream spotify to my Denon AV set up other than potentially using an interface with my TV, so it might be superb from that point of view.

 

Anyway - yeah, go ahead, let me know.

 

I'm about to drink a foreign beer purely off the back of what you lot have been saying in the ale thread... I wouldn't say I trust any one of you, but as a collective, aside from being a bunch of numpties, you're generally on the money.

If anyone has any specific comments on Roku 3, please do post here though, since I'm reasonably keen. 

 

I like the fact its not from one of the big content providers and therefore apps are not going to be 'pushed'.

Install plex rarflix on it and join a subscription service, i am a member of one, pm me for details
