cjslcfc Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 5 points adrift, next two games are Everton and Man City away. We're down. Everton away looks a lot easier now than it did at this time last season! Same with Man City away. Man City have been abysmal recently (bar the Chelsea game). Definitely possible to get a result at Goodison. The Etihad will be a lot harder.
Manwell Pablo Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Some people missing the point about Burnley, they have a side that punched above their weight in the championship, and from what I've seen of them they have given it a good go in all the games, except the West Brom game early they haven't been given a spanking. They work hard are well organised and should be proud of every point they have achieved this season, because on paper they shouldn't have won any. They will go down, but they will go down with their head's held high feeling they gave it their best shot, they won't go down wondering what could have been if the manager hadn't experimented with ridiculous formations. Or if they hadn't gifted so many goals to the opposition or missed so many simple chances. That is what I would prefer, rather than to look back on this season as a missed opportunity. I wouldn't want to be Villa, they should be doing so much better with the players they have and the resources at their disposal. Villa are a horrible kind of shit, Burnley are the kind of shit I would prefer us to be, punching above their weight rather than underachieving like we are. So frustrating at the moment. No still not getting the point......don't see why they wouldn't gain a single point on paper, don't know why you think we are so much better than them Dyche has assembled a reasonable squad, also don't see why you are so sure they are as good as down we can't win for love nor money and Villa can't even score for love nor money so as things stand that's two out of the three positions sorted, I'd give them a pretty reasonable chance of staying up never mind "going down with their heads held high" it's them Hull, West Brom or QPR at the moment. Your post just sounds arrogant to be honest, if I was a Burnley fan on here I'd piss myself laughing.
Captain... Posted 11 February 2015 Author Posted 11 February 2015 Of course they can stay up, so can we, but realistically it doesn't look good. The point is that right now Burnley fans aren't laying into their manager and players, they aren't frustrated and fed up with this season, they are quite happy with this season so far as they can see their players giving it everything they can see their manager getting everything out of their players. They are well organised and hard working, they don't make stupid mistakes what they lack is a bit of quality. Which is why 'if' they go down they will not see it as a missed opportunity but that they gave it everything and fell short. Most fans will be ok with that. What is so frustrating being a Leicester fan is that we have seen the quality in this side but stupid mistakes on the pitch continue to cost us. If we were being undone by quality play by the opposition every game then we can't complain. The comparison with Burnley could have been the Brian Little team in the Prem for the first time, it was not a dig at Burnley but just using them as a team in a similar position to us but where their fans will be so much happier than ours. I would be much happier supporting a team giving it their all every week, like Burnley, than us at the moment.
