Captain... Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 ...you know like Burnley shit, like plucky try hard, punching above our weight, but still shit, and will get relegated, but they will get relegated knowing they gave everything they had and just weren't good enough. The fact that we can play a team like Arsenal at home, carve out some great chances and limit them to a few clear cut chances, play better than them for long periods shows we are not shit. We are actually quite good at times (yes I know we have also been awful at times too) we have 2 problems, taking our chances and gifting the opposition goals. So many goals conceded this season have not only been preventable but so often our own fault, and so many great chances haven't been taken. I have resigned myself to relegation this season, and it will be more frustrating than for Burnley, as we have shown in so many games that we are good enough and can compete with anyone in this division. This season is turning into one giant missed opportunity and that is so much more frustrating than being shit.
ousefox Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Can't disagree with anything from that. Spot on.

You swap Burnley for Villa I'd be more inclined to agree, Burnley have put some decent performances in pretty ignorant to single them out. They are also far from done. But even then I woudn't agree because at least I've got a bit of pride about the team where as if we were getting hammered every week I wouldn't
DennisNedry Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 It'd be a lot easier to take so many defeats if we were playing badly every week, that's for sure.
shailen Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 If we have to go down in some ways I wish we were battered more weeks, because it's sad if we were to go down playing this well. We must be one of the best teams to go down if it happens

Villa, for sure..
Finn Claw II Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 I think Burnley to some extent is about club size vs. Where they are, in that sense they are "shit"
Max Power Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Completely agree with the 'missed opportunity' line. That's whats so frustrating.
Grewks Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 The same 'shit' burnley that got a result at the Etihad? Burnley have been better than us, because they have been more consistent. 11 matches with the same side says it all really.
Benjani Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 First time of the season i am now personally completely resigned to us going down. Its just not been our season unfortunately, if we had huth from the start instead of morgan we would be at least 6 points better off. Not even going to get stressed about where our next win is coming from or looking at our fixtures now. Just enjoy the remaining games and look forward to hopefully a productive season next year. Parachute payments and 20 million in the bank from mahrez and kramaric. Owners can't be too disheartened. Let's win the fa cup though!
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 I think Burnley to some extent is about club size vs. Where they are, in that sense they are "shit" Not the way he's written it, all performance based.
Mikey Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 **** that. We can still do it. I think the players believe that too.
Stevosevic Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 5 points adrift, next two games are Everton and Man City away. We're down.
Grewks Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 First time this season we actually have had 4 (5 if you include was) brilliant individual performances which suggest we belong at this level. Tonight was bigger than United at home. Tonight we didn't rely on poor refereeing decisions...we relied on hard work, tactical genius and quality football. A dozen more performances like tonight....and we should be fine. Huth, was, Cambi, james, mahrez, schlupp and kram all on the pitch together against the likes of hull, burnley, qpr, Newcastle etc should be enough.
Master Fox Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 QPR 3-2 Burnley 2 -2 Palace 0-1 Sunderland 0 - 0 Liverpool 2 -2 Spurs 1 -2 Arsenal 2 -1 All games we should've won. That's the difference
Grewks Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 5 points adrift, next two games are Everton and Man City away. We're down. With Cambi, was, huth ,james, kram, mahrez and schlupp all on the pitch together...I believe.
Ian W LCFC Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 5 points behind. 13 games to go. That's A THIRD of the season left... We're not relegated yet.
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 QPR 3-2 Burnley 2 -2 Palace 0-1 Sunderland 0 - 0 Liverpool 2 -2 Spurs 1 -2 Arsenal 2 -1 All games we should've won. That's the difference And the rest, should of beaten Palace Saturday really given the chances we had.
Master Fox Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 We're going to win 5 out of last 6 games. Beat Hull & Burnley and get a point at Everton. Should be enough for us to stay up.
Brooksy Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 5 points adrift, next two games are Everton and Man City away. We're down. Agreed. Just hope we keep NP
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 We aren't down, it's looking horrifically bleak but we are most certainly not down. QPR, Burnley, Sunderland, Hull still to come. We've beaten Spurs away all ready and I wouldn't completely write us off against Everton Newcastle (again already beaten at home) or West Ham. You'd make us odds on and I'd say it's the most probable outcome but it's certainly not over.
shailen Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 5 points adrift, next two games are Everton and Man City away. We're down. We can beat Everton
Finn Claw II Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Not the way he's written it, all performance based. Fair one, I think that is him implication though. Fair play to Burnley out of any of the sides around us other than us I'd like them to stay up.
Captain... Posted 11 February 2015 Author Posted 11 February 2015 Some people missing the point about Burnley, they have a side that punched above their weight in the championship, and from what I've seen of them they have given it a good go in all the games, except the West Brom game early they haven't been given a spanking. They work hard are well organised and should be proud of every point they have achieved this season, because on paper they shouldn't have won any. They will go down, but they will go down with their head's held high feeling they gave it their best shot, they won't go down wondering what could have been if the manager hadn't experimented with ridiculous formations. Or if they hadn't gifted so many goals to the opposition or missed so many simple chances. That is what I would prefer, rather than to look back on this season as a missed opportunity. I wouldn't want to be Villa, they should be doing so much better with the players they have and the resources at their disposal. Villa are a horrible kind of shit, Burnley are the kind of shit I would prefer us to be, punching above their weight rather than underachieving like we are. So frustrating at the moment.

Technically...we are only underachieving by 2 positions.
