  1. Challinor available now!
  2. 100 pages! What odds would we have got for it still running in June, when this thread started in April? Probably a little better than Evens which RM is now!
  3. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/15454837/rangers-kevin-muscat-shanghai-port-salary-revealed-contingency-plan/ Even though his contract at Shanghai ends in December, can't see him taking a HUGE pay cut to come to us.
  4. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepijn_Lijnders
  5. I was just speculating that he might be in McCarron's thoughts! I'd be very surprised if it happened. But as in my post above, Lijnders might be a possibility.
  6. He could well be one of McCarron's radar. Pep's Assistant Manager (Kolo Toure was just a Coach) last season, Manager at Red Bull Salzburg (with a 45% win rate), Rodgers' and Klopp's Coach at Liverpool for 9 years and Manager at NEC Nijmegen (with a 50% win rate, just missing out on promotion to the Eredivisie).
  7. At the end of the season, there was a fair bit of speculation that one of the possible candidates for Manager, was Kolo Toure. It then all went a bit quiet on him, but with Pep's departure and Maresca & Co moving in at the Etihad, I wonder if KT is a bit adrift now and might be on McCarron's radar. Obviously, the City Football group connection and 4 years at the KP, with Bilbo R, are two pluses, but I didn't realise his son was a Trainee with us. Admittedly his previous stint in League 1 with Wigan went a bit pear shaped, but he might / could have learned a bit since then. He certainly has the background in the game, that supports a case for him.
  8. Better bet than his current boss at Lommel.
  9. Source?! His agent is Pep's agent. McCarron must have some direct links.
  10. One of his Assistant Managers (Haris Medunjanin) has been a teammate of Begovic in the Bosnian national side for many years (so that link might help - though that would mean AB is likely to stay as Goalkeeping Coach!). Another Assistant (Ahmed Abdulla), is a real journeyman in English Non-league football (including Caretaker Manager at Bedford).
  11. Yep - and he led Castellon to promotion to the Spanish Segunda division, so that is a promising CV!
  12. Dean Smith, Christian Fuchs & John Terry - a whole 'package' for us?!
  13. I think there's a pretty good chance this could happen. There was an interview with Smith a couple of months ago, when he said, he's loving Managing in the States, but, he wants to get back to English football, 'soon'. A Midland lad, with a 'real challenge' (!), at a Club he has 'unfinished business' with, could mean he'd consider coming back. Fuchs' experience as his Assistant at Charlotte and now, Newport, might well lead to an ideal partnership?
  14. Lee Johnson's Assistant Manager at Lommel, is ex-Fox, Robbie Neilson. And Johnson's CV includes a lengthy stint at the Etihad, imbibing Pep stuff! Got to be on any McCarron/Top/Dudkin short list?!
  15. https://onefootball.com/en/news/james-mccarron-managers-transfers-and-style-behind-leicester-citys-potential-sporting-director-42432883 While I would love Fuchs' appointment, I can't see it happening. Especially considering this article about James McCarron, our incoming Sporting Director. At Lommel, he only looked at appointing experienced Managerial/Coaching staff (Steve Bould, Lee Johnson) and went for people in the 'Pep / Maresca mould' - I don't think that's CF's style. I doubt if he'd pick Fuchs, though if Top / Dudkin wanted him, no doubt he'd be overruled. In any event, he would definitely want an experienced hand beside Fuchs.
