  1. It will be VERY interesting to see who will be travelling to Spain soon. Martin has used 27 players in the 3 Friendly games so far, I can't believe all 27 (plus Chaplin, McCarthy, Souttar etc) will be going - 20 max? Does anybody know when they're shipping out? Monday, I guess.
  2. https://foxesofleicester.com/lowdown-on-leicester-transfer-target-luke-chambers-of-liverpool Only from 'Foxes of Leicester', but I guess they must have got the rumour from somewhere. Luke Chambers, a left sided defender, on loan, could be a really good addition. Loaned to Charlton last season, so a League 1 loan isn't a step up, but Liverpool might go with it?
  3. I think he's looking alright - calm, positionally aware and good on the ball. If he had a couple of decent defenders in front of him, he'd be fine.
  4. At least that makes it clear to Martin, that we HAVE to get rid!
  5. No, that's all down to poor defending, Faes, particularly.
  6. Wow, only 25 (just 6 months older than Jakub), but less than 80 1st team appearances (only 8 at Premier level). Probably down to being behind an established keeper at Betis. But perhaps a decent opportunity with us, could be the making of him.
  7. Reid is probably bu**ered already, he's had 2 weeks of Martin's 'pumped up' training sessions! Wouldn't be surprised if Evans is going straight back out on loan again somewhere - already sorted.
  8. Weal, the new Goalkeeping Coach, will now be assessing the skills and strengths of Keepers at the club, in training and pre-season Friendlies and I guess they'll all start with a blank scoresheet. I wouldn't be surprised if Vieites gets prime position once the season starts..
  9. Yes, to both comments. I guess as a third choice keeper, he'd be OK. And he once played for England!
  10. I spotted that before you replied, KlaaZ, so deleted my post - obviously not quickly enough for you to reply to it! I thought it difficult for the same guy to play 2 matches a few hundred miles apart on the same day!
  11. West Ham now have £80m from the sale of Fernandes to Spurs. Fatawu wouldn't be a straight replacement, but he would offer a bit of what Fernandes' has done.
  12. I think this is spot on. I'm pretty sure, as soon as we can nail Martin's backroom team, he'll be announced. Possibly in the next few days? In addition to Owen, I wonder whether Gill might actually be sorted - a deal with West Brom, could be what's taking the time. I can't see Parker leaving OT and I'm sure Begovic will be our new Goalkeeping Coach.
  13. Nobody here seems to have picked up on my post quoting Talksport. "Martin has others options, both in the UK and abroad". His appointment at the KP is not a given thing. Percy has only said he is in talks with us.
  14. https://talksport.com/football/4309541/russell-martin-leicester-city-managerial-return-efl-league-one/ Another straw - Martin is in talks with other clubs! C'mon, surely someone abroad might not have heard about him, or is OK with his crap style of football!
  15. Percy did say, "in advance talks", he didn't say it's actually happening. I know I'm clutching at straws, but its better than just 'clutching'!
  16. Challinor available now!
  17. 100 pages! What odds would we have got for it still running in June, when this thread started in April? Probably a little better than Evens which RM is now!
  18. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/15454837/rangers-kevin-muscat-shanghai-port-salary-revealed-contingency-plan/ Even though his contract at Shanghai ends in December, can't see him taking a HUGE pay cut to come to us.
  19. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepijn_Lijnders
  20. I was just speculating that he might be in McCarron's thoughts! I'd be very surprised if it happened. But as in my post above, Lijnders might be a possibility.
  21. He could well be one of McCarron's radar. Pep's Assistant Manager (Kolo Toure was just a Coach) last season, Manager at Red Bull Salzburg (with a 45% win rate), Rodgers' and Klopp's Coach at Liverpool for 9 years and Manager at NEC Nijmegen (with a 50% win rate, just missing out on promotion to the Eredivisie).
  22. At the end of the season, there was a fair bit of speculation that one of the possible candidates for Manager, was Kolo Toure. It then all went a bit quiet on him, but with Pep's departure and Maresca & Co moving in at the Etihad, I wonder if KT is a bit adrift now and might be on McCarron's radar. Obviously, the City Football group connection and 4 years at the KP, with Bilbo R, are two pluses, but I didn't realise his son was a Trainee with us. Admittedly his previous stint in League 1 with Wigan went a bit pear shaped, but he might / could have learned a bit since then. He certainly has the background in the game, that supports a case for him.
  23. Better bet than his current boss at Lommel.
  24. Source?! His agent is Pep's agent. McCarron must have some direct links.
