spirefox Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 Just seen his 5 goals yesterday on Sky, making it 15 in 9 games. As Wrexham are in Administration surely we could get him for next to nothing. After yesterday CL has got to try something.

Bedford Fox Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 Official Profile Real name Juan Ugarte Date of birth 07/11/1980 Position Striker Nationality Spain As for conago one word WAGES!
Jonbluefox9 Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 I was trying to think of a club that are in financial difficulties and have a striker that's scoring so we can get them on the cheap.. Can't say I've heard of him but he fits the bill completely. I'm willing to wait a few games to see if Connolly and de Vries can form a partnership but yesterday just looked like it was when Dublin and Connolly and Scowy and Connolly were up together.

Bedford Fox Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 Hartlepool 4-6 Wrexham Striker Juan Ugarte scored five goals for Wrexham Juan Ugarte scored five times as Wrexham claimed three precious points in a 10-goal thriller at Hartlepool. The Spaniard struck two right-foot shots and a penalty before half-time, then scored with two piledrivers. Gavin Strachan's early free-kick had put Hartlepool ahead, while Joel Porter found the net in each half. Adam Boyd's shot from 18 yards and Porter's second made it 4-4, but Mark Jones put Wrexham back ahead before Ugarte's final strike made things safe. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hartlepool: Konstantopoulos, Barron (Daly 82), Clark (Robson 46), Nelson, Brackstone, Williams, Strachan, Sweeney, Humphreys, Boyd, Porter. Bedford Fox Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 Above is a quick match report on the wrexham game when Ugarte got 5 goals
Jonbluefox9 Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 Maybe it's connoly that is the problem. Maybe, although I didn't see much in terms of effort from de Vries yesterday. I think we've been spoiled with good strikers over the past few seasons or should I say partnerships like Dickov and Deane and we had Bent, Dickov and Ferdinand who all chipped in last season. Now we've got no-one.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 So would I. I think a lot of us would but I still think he'll get some stick next week. Even if we did cheer him when his name's announced, which I don't think everyone will, we'll be booing by the final whistle because he'll have run our defenders all over the place and backed into them all game. Generally annoying them and getting up our noses.

Mark Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 If he's available for free, just get him in - QUICK! He's worth the gamble, thats an amazing goalscoring record even if it is League 1, Wrexham are 22nd, a poor team. You never know, he could repeat his form at Wrexham at a poor team in the Championship

You never know, he could repeat his form at Wrexham at a poor team in the Championship 75196 Id go for him, even if we get relegated Im sure hed be willing to join if wrexham look like they are heading to league2. personally Id like to see tommy wright given a long spell in the team maybe with dion dublin upfront partnering or something. Or maybe even try out some of our reserve/academy forwards.. Louis Dodds for example seems to score on a regular basis at both those levels...
Bedford Fox Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 He looks o.k but i havnt seen him play much! But if he keeps up this form another side will be in for him so CL should have a look?
Phil Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 id like to see pablo counago come in hes not in the ipswich squad and i think his contract is up in the summer 75064 your more than welcome to lazy b*****s
Phil Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 Phil how much Money is he on Phil? Do you Know? 75247 its been said that he's on as much as 22k a week but the realistic figure is more like 10-12k. its extremely unlikely that he'll be offered a contract with us next season. he is a great player but is very unmotivated at the moment.
Who ate all the pies? Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 I know he'sanother Blackburn player (and we haven't had much luck with them in the past), but what about Matt Jansen? Reports say that he'll be allowed to leave at the end of the season and to be honest I think if we offer them Nathan Blake (well he is welsh and Hughes love his fellow countrymen) we'll get him, okay perhaps some money may need to change hands as well. I know he's been injured but lets be fair we haven't got much money, he hasn't got much of a future we need him (on form) and he needs us. He must be better than what we have at the momemt! Just a thought!
Deathside Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 id like to see pablo counago come in hes not in the ipswich squad and i think his contract is up in the summer Counago is very good at diving - Saw far too much of that yesterday from De Vries - Don't want any more of that at Leicester - Thank you However, despite his diving/theatrical tendancies I'd have Theo back any day
Tomassi Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 Ugarte NO NO NO seen him play a few times his distribution in games is aweful!!
Anish Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 Ugarte NO NO NOseen him play a few times his distribution in games is aweful!! 75306 Couldn't care less if his distribution is shocking as long as he can shoot and hit the back of the net, that's all that counts for a striker
Simon Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 If he's available for free, just get him in - QUICK! Scow Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 What have we got to lose? A striker on the cheap who is scoring goals for fun...
SilverFox Posted 7 March 2005 Posted 7 March 2005 We have to lose the fact that we might potentially bring in another striker who cannot score in this league. We need someone who has a proven record in this league. Goals are the only thing that is going to get us out of the shit we are in. Experimenting when we are only 4 points away from relegation is not intelligent!
