I have to wait 72 hours for an investigation to take place. I'm planning my own investigation with a baseball bat.

Why do you think it was the courier who nicked it? It could just as well have been the manufacturer/retailer who forgot to put the player in the box before sealing it

I guess that is what they are going to investigate...

but usually there is a shipment sheet (however it is called) in the parcel which indicates exactly what was shipped and who double checked it. I wonder what this says (if it is there)?

It says Ipod nano and ipod nano armband.

Plus the box had been tampered with. The tape had been sliced on the side and signs of the side of the box being forced open!!

I imagine no news today... but hopefully you will hear from them tomorrow?

Did you sign for it?

Shouldn't really have signed for it if it had clearly been tampered with.

Still, it's bad luck to be honest.

Some scu mmy people out there.

Hmm Babylon takes no shit off anybody, if he knew something was wrong with it, he would have told them

I am assuming he didn't notice the tampering until after closing the door?

Or perhaps he was so excited about receiving the parcel that he forgot to check the packaging...

(easily done :P )

In any case, it is always better to check briefly the packaging before signing.

Since there is usually no time to open the parcel to check the contents are ok before signing, I always write "unchecked" and sign. Might not make a difference in some cases, but in at least some cases it will be enough.

PS: Learnt it the hard way after a friend took delivery of some furniture for me (I had not given him permission to do so). I was never refunded any money for the broken tables because he simply signed and did not write unchecked or anything else.

Maybe he was at work and someone less harsh answered the door

Bad luck Babs. If the baseball bat doesn't work, try a cricket bat!

Seriously though, I hope they sort it out. You can't trust anyone these days.

Maybe, we'll find out soon ...

It pays to be harsh when taking delivery of parcels, though! :P
