Assistant manager Keith Downing said he had not heard anything, but chairman Paul Baker confirmed that Cheltenham players would always be allowed to talk to other clubs. He said he had not been approached, but added: "I think we owe it to our players to let them talk to clubs at a higher level, especially McCann, who would naturally be keen to further his Northern Ireland credentials

The ? is will he cut the mustard at this level ?
Ultra Posted 4 January 2006 Posted 4 January 2006 That's not an issue that appears to have unduly bothered our club in recent times...
City Fan Posted 4 January 2006 Posted 4 January 2006 Cheltenham pissing town! Surely we can get better than that can't we?

Jonbluefox9 Posted 4 January 2006 Posted 4 January 2006 Cheltenham pissing town! Surely we can get better than that can't we? It doesn't matter who they are currently playing for if they do the business when they join us! We signed Matty Elliott form Oxford (no dis-respect) and he went on to become a Leicester legend. It really doesn't matter a jot where they come from if they are good enough.

And thats where the scouts and judging a players ability comes into force, Have we got that ? Im not so sure.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 4 January 2006 Posted 4 January 2006 And thats where the scouts and judging a players ability comes into force, Have we got that ? Im not so sure. I think Rob Kelly's a good judge of young players but it's a case of how often can he get out and watch matches himself? I'm sure we have specialist scouts still but have never heard any of their names mentioned whereas I remember some of our scouts in the past have been managers out of work. I think Tony Pulis did some work for Micky Adams at one stage?
