  1. Ahem you may be right. I'm 53, was at away pub for 11am, never stopped drinking all day. My lad made sure we got back to station, right trains back etc and stuck to coke. Neither of us stopped singing though and he's well ahead of me on shithousery ..probably as he still has access to sufficient brain cells in the moment.
  2. After 2 x adult or one adult and one for age 18.
  3. Away pub was great!!! Arrived 11am. Don't remember much of the game which my sober son tells me is no bad thing 🤣. Also staff at club treated us really well!!
  4. Me and lad only 2 not removed from whole of row M, Standing. So ok I was pissed and left ground with blood all over my legs but no clue why anyone was removed or why I have blood on me. My lad ( sober) also clueless.. I was just singing away and enjoying us being as shit as ever 🤣🤦‍♂️
  5. Of course I will renew. Supported LCFC for 45 of my 53 years after my Liverpool supporting days ended at age 8 when I was taken to an actual game at Filbo. I have to say, bar blips, the last 10 years have been pretty much the best I've experienced in all that time. This season, the worst yes, but 9 of the previous 10 were brilliant. I do think it's easy to take all that's gone wrong recently and forget all the good stuff, the good decisions, the good buys, the open top busses, the overall limbs and pretend like we are living through a football apocalypse. I'm not happy, I'm gutted, I'm annoyed, I'm downbeat but our time will come again and I will be there with my lad when it comes
  6. I think the issue is simple. On leaving the UK where a large proportion of his tax bill was at the 45% rate, he would have been able to agree terms in Turkey at a top end 20% tax rate. It is likely he would have accepted a lower gross salary in Turkey than in the UK but take home net salary would have matched or exceeded his UK earnings at Palace. If he reverts to paying his taxes in the UK but at the lower gross Salary than he was previously earning, he will be substantially "worse off" . As he is reaching the latter stages of his career and contemplating a future where his likely income will reduce at some point, it is realistic to expect that he will want to earn as much as possible until that point in order to invest such that he can maintain a lifestyle that matches his current as closely as possible after his playing days are over. He has been quoted as wanting a loan with obligations to buy as that will also secure his short term future. This is something we cannot offer at a level he would require so does he take the risk for one season to put himself back in the shop window of the Prem with LCFC with the view to potentially secure a final lucrative contract with another PREM team and take a big hit on his earnings for one season. Can he afford to? Sounds mad to us but people often live just within their means
  7. Trying to play controversial and hard to get. Do you reckon it's working? 😆
  8. 🤣. What you doing tomorrow night 🥰. Seriously, I agree there's been good and bad!. My take on it is just a bit different to yours. I prefer good and bad if the alternative is neither. I'd much prefer good and good. I just think that we aimed high , achieved high, aimed to stay high and shit hit the fan. You could blame, Rudders, Top, Brenda, luck, blah blah. There's some blame in all quarters bit I'm glad they aimed high even if we fell firmly on our proverbial ass. We got to the chance to bounce back and we did and laughed at Leeds along the way. I'm just the type of guy that tries to apply perspective and after considering everything, yes I still think mistakes were made but think this is outweighed by successes. But I appreciate my opinion is not universally accepted and I'm probably in the minority.
  9. Well let's just agree to disagree. I do know what I'm on about, maybe I'm. Not the best at getting my point across. In short, we aimed high, we took risks, we lived the high life, we loved it but it all came to an end😢. ..... BUT..... we bounced back!!!!. Story To be continued but it's not been dull!! 😀
  10. Risk vs reward. We invested to try to break the Big 6. We pretty much did. Nobody complained. We had european tours, we lived the high life. We ****ing loved it! Nobody moaned at the Hierarchy ( much 🤣) !! But.... we reached the end of the cycle, we needed to invest, but without Europe, we had no cash. We had players on big wages and couldn't move them on. Youri held out on a new contract and left for free, Vestegaard didn't work out, ( initially) Rodgers EGO got the better of him, Madders missed a penalty but we still should have stayed up with room to spare. 8th to relegation was not expected. It wasn't planned for, neither should it have been, because we were ambitious. Meanwhile tumbleweed blew through clubs like Palace. They played safe, life was dull but safe, no titles, no cups, elderly managers but dull was OK. Personally, I prefer ambition despite the lows that come with the highs but to put the blame on a hierarchy that served us well in the main and aimed high is not for me. I prefer the course we took and feel risk was mitigated as much as could be expected. Playing safe may have been the better option but how dull it would have been.
  11. For me. Vs the Crystal palace...... prem title, FA cup, Europe x x , relegation, and shit fan hitting 😢 the joys of promotion, the open bus and copious amounts of alcohol, I predict a riot, blah d blah is far more interesting than festering in mid table. 😊
  12. But where we they when we won the Prem, FA Cup and finished 5th twice which whilst not 4th is much higher than we have finished on average in 140 years. It's easy to throw blame when unhappy and forget prior successes
  13. Maybe let's just be Crystal palace eh. Fester in prem mid table, take no risks, be pretty much assured the prem bar the odd fright but little more, little less. I'm not blaming it all on bad luck, but it played a part. I'm just not one for throwing blame and prefer a more balanced view.
  14. The hierarchy took us from League 1 to the prem, to prem champions, to FA Cup winners, signing top players for very little, Mahrez, Vardy, Albrighton, Kante ( etc). In general, manager appointments have succeeded ( Pearson, Ranieri, Brendan ( until his EGO took over) Maresca. As a club we have achieved so much more since my son was born (he's 17) than I remember (I'm 53) bar the O' Neill years. I think we felt the risk to invest was fairly safe given we were competing in Europe and finishing 5th - 8th in the prem. I think we got a bit unlucky when some players didn't work out but nobody complained with our ambition at the time. I think relegation with the team we had was a failure of coaching mixed with some bad luck. World cup in winter when we were on a roll, that Maddison penalty miss vs Everton) . Lack of investment due to failing to get european footy and trying to meet FFP requirements should have led to a lower mid table finish at worse, not relegation and I think we recruited well with manager and players to get straight back up. So all in all, having watched the most successful spell since the 60s, yes I think I should trust the hierarchy despite everyone loving to hate them. Mistakes made? Yes but all in the name of ambition and nobody complained at the signings that didn't work out until things went wrong. I think we have become a bit short sighted and forgot to remember just how well we have done lately vs the whole140 years. Not popular maybe but....
  15. Ah that must be new - I checked earlier -:thanx
  16. Will start in city centre, then towards ground. Cost no issue, just atmosphere and previously been a good atmosphere there pre game and outdoor drinking! Usually drive in for 12.30 kick offs
  17. Getting bus in for a few pints. Assume local hero wont be open until 11am. Anywhere opening earlier?
  18. Who is getting hassled? I'm just bored and having fun to pass the time
  19. Each response lifts my inner satisfaction. ( I think I know what's next)
  20. I will summarise within your attention capacity....... Shit takes time to sort
  21. A more impressive retort indeed but it still comes down to "insults being the last refuge of a fool". Oh dear - just by quoting such... the irony and where it places me 🤣
  22. Hmm, tell me about your father
  23. Mate I'm early gen x trying to survive in a gen z world. A scientific calculator was new tech as a lad a casio watch from Argos with an hourly chime was the dream and a ZX81 was considered space age ( google it)
  24. You wanted it to be even longer!!!! But I will accept it would have benefitted from a bit more breaking up. I was on a conf call ( bored sh1tless whilst typing)
