With all due respect I can't understand how this is surprising to anyone who is truly into football and you only have to look at some of the threads on here last season. After all what was the result we cheered the most over the last 12 months? I think what you're trying to say in a subtle way is that Scotland can cheer against England but not in this case for Argentina because of the history and politics. But if you bring history and politics into it then of course the Scots are entitled to point out they have more issues there with their neighbours than with a South American country thousands of miles away.

Genuinely don't understand what's weird about it. I can't stand Argentina but I'd cheer them on over Scotland because I have Scottish friends and family and it's funny taking the piss out of their team. It's really not that complicated.

Because you never cheer on your rivals. Forest could be playing Satan's XI and I'd cheer against them. England vs Scotland is the oldest rivalry in all world sport, why diminish it?
