The same amount as in all the new standing terraces that have been built and introduced since that tragic day. It's not the stand that causes problems it's overcrowding and bad management as you well know.

Clearly those suggesting the new safe standing could cause a stampede or people to all over have not seen it or dont understand it, it really is safe and will be introduced at a ground soon. I am certain it will happen and I am also certain it will be the safest area in any football ground in the country seated or terraced.

That's a great hat Frank is wearing I have one very similar. We wore some ridiculous stuff in the late 70's and early 80's. Glam rock, punk and new romantics. I'm sure others thought we looked a bunch of tossers and can remember older lads saying similar stuff to us. Does everyone realise how old and boring they sound having a go at the young lads fashions.

There are continuous barriers on every row the length of th stand so no chance of surging or crushing, you are allocated a seat space which is locked up so overcrowding is avoided. Takes out all the problems that can be caused by an open terrace with a few random barriers.

I got there at 2.55 had to queue for a bit at the turnstiles but went straight to the far end and got on to the terrace easy enough just in time for kick off.

I am complaining but not about the terrace being busy but about the management by the stewards. They soon pick up on anything the fans do wrong so I'm just returning the favour.

You are right but they are fit strong young lads who have no perception that someone could get hurt. I don't think older people and kids are in their though processes during a goal celebration. As you say it their culture and perhaps. Reasonable word might help. I often stand with young lads and they do it but they know to keep away from my wife as I have advised them.

But not oversold according to their current assessment for the stands capacity, so they really need to review that, I would say that officially they did not oversell yesterday bu anyone could see there were too many in ther for today's safety standards. Th FA should let them install safe standing as they wish to with th appropriate capacity thats gives, problem solved immediately

The stand was clearly full end to end once they had got everyone in and personally I have been in stands that were together packed than yesterday. It clearly shows the only danger with standing is overcrowding which can cause surging and with that comes the safety issues. Safe Standing areas prevent any surging as each row has a complete barrier which can be managed by a single steward at each end of a row to ensure the appropriate amount of people enter. To prove this we were stood directly behind one of the end entrance Walls and were only four deep from the back of the stand to the wall, there were no issues and we stood comfortably all game as there was no chance of mass surging. I think the stewards were poorly positioned initially yesterday as they knew the stand would be at capacity so the blame has to be with their safety management as they direct deployment of stewards. I'm not sure they oversold as they allocated us the maximum number for the terrace clearly they may need to review this allocation for modern da safety requirements.
