Only just got around to watching the highlights, my word what a game.
Higgins is a beast and seeing Flacco do so well in 2025 does bring a little smile to my face, but boy I was howling watching Loveland bounce off the safeties and run for the TD.
Crazy.

'And who would buy us' is not the flex that poster thinks it is. It's a fair question - but only because the shocking and overpaid playing squad, massive debts and unbuilt extension make us a tough sell for anyone!
I'm guessing it was just a different way to phrase 'be careful what you wish for', as if whoever comes in could possibly do a worse job without folding the entire club on day one.
It's OK to ask but Wednesday have supposedly had numerous bidders in no time at all after going into administration and whilst looking likely to go down.
I can't say I've got the foggiest who would buy us and we certainly could end up with someone just as bad if not worse, but that shouldn't stop us trying.

Not a single vote for Atomic Kitten is outrageous.

With him being the keeper with the 3rd best save percentage in the league it's hard to disagree with this.
Doesn't a stat saying that he's top 3 make it rather easy to disagree with someone essentially saying he's not good enough?

Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown has been extradited from Dubai to the United States to face a charge of second degree attempted murder relating to a shooting incident in May.
The Miami Police department said the former Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers player was "located in Dubai and was apprehended" before being "extradited to Essex County, NJ (New Jersey), by US Marshals".

Blue Bell - tiny and almost one of a kind. Very congenial and fun, beer is well kept.
The Phoenix - where I'd drink if I lived there. Great lager and cask options, multi-roomed, by happenstance my girlfriend and I ended up there with their quiz on so they brought out a massive plate of pork pie for each table, even though there was only two of us. Came second or third which was a good showing.
The Swan - feels a little like the Bath Hotel in Sheffield
Golden Ball - community pub so very buzzy and fun but felt a little like being at house party to me.
Then Market Cat isn;t on the guide but the best new Thornbridge pub, beer selection is excellent, likewise with Pivni. The only one that I stumbled on that wasn't recommended anywhere was the Three Cranes, very nice cask-led old man pub.
Good shouts here.
Don't really remember venturing into the Blue Bell but the Swan was decent and the other two were semi-regularly haunts when I was there. Definitely worth visiting and a little more off the beaten track.
Pivni was a favourite too.
I would add The Hop - always had a reasonable selection, stone baked pizzas done in house and live music some days.
Evil eye is a good spot for drinks but not necessarily beer.

I love Nigel as much as the next person but I find this clamouring for the past to be really, really odd.
I saw someone calling for MON here the other week as well. It's baffling.
You can't just pretend it's 2008 or 1998 again. We need someone like Nigel but it won't be him. Remember the good times for what they were and move on.
-
Can't see us sacking him just yet and the way I see it there is little evidence to suggest we would.
We got rid of Cooper fairly sharpish but have more generally been loyal to a fault. IIRC, we've also got form for sacking after international breaks rather than before when it would make more sense..

Skipp is the worst decision for me, if not the worst player.
Data and Soumare have been bigger failures in being here longer and not performing, but I can understand their fees a bit more given their situations when we bought them.
We all knew that was silly money for Skipp at the time, the Spurs fans couldn't believe it.

This is a terrifying post. We really need to make separate ourselves from this kind of ideology before we're killing each other on the streets over here.
Anyone voting reform really needs to think about the big picture here and what it really means and if you're having trouble read a history book.
If you showed that to someone say 10-11 years ago and then told them it was the White House I think they would laugh in your face.
It is absolutely crazy and yet more or less what we have come to expect.

Wouldn't put it past us.
I think we will eek out a mid-table finish because of individual quality from the likes of JJ, Ramsey and Fatawu but we clearly don't have a lot of stomach and a few more bad results could see things turn ugly.

Just wondering what the good people of FoxesTalk can share in terms of knowledge around house extensions. We have talked about it for years and are now pressing ahead. There was a debate about moving but we like where we are and it’s a more cost effective way of getting the bigger house we are after.
We are talking about a pretty simple 2 storey, side extension as the layout of the house lends itself very well to this.
The first thing we have discussed is that the space is about 8ft, just over. We don’t want to go to the boundary as we want the ability to have access to the rear and possibly bring the bins up and down. Downstairs should be fine as it is a bigger kitchen area at the back, utility space, bathroom and shallow garage storage space at the front which won’t be a problem. Upstairs requires
more consideration about the use of space. The current small room is on that side at the front. If the upstairs has to be set back slightly, it’s a case of whether to bring that room wider with the set back consideration and annoying box thing from the stairs, or just have the new space as a further room but it would be quite a long and thin one. I imagine this is quite a normal consideration so wondering if anyone has had a similar experience?
We have the architect coming next week. Most around here (Sheffield) seem to be big organisations so we have found a small, local father and son team who specialise in private home extensions which seems more suitable.
Builders wise, I have had three come round and spoken to them. Two are Checkatrade listed. The one who isn’t, was far more expensive and ruled out straight away. Of the other two, my preference is one based on how detailed the quote was, very itemised which I preferred. Honestly I wasn’t sure what else to go on. Both prices were reasonable, both had good write ups and I personally got a good feeling for both.
I think I have a good grasp on the process. The next step being the architect coming and us putting the ideas into official plans (not the unofficial ones I drew up for the builders).
I am just wondering if anyone has experience of a similar build where it comes to maximising space, particularly upstairs.
A good sign imo.
More documentation/itemisation of costs is generally better as it means there is less grey area for potential disputes to arise.
I would still suggest getting 3 companies to price formally when you've got proposals from your architect because pricing off whatever you've done is likely to include a lot of assumptions and is unlikely to be apples to apples. Also comparing just 2 quotes can be very difficult if there is a sizeable variation between them.

Im dealing with a load of council properties at the moment. Its weird what these contractors get away with.
Its poor that the system isn't designed by a qualified technician for each property rather than just slapped on by a builder. You would assume under the Building Safety Act this would have stopped but it doesn't appear to.
There are good small contractors out there but many are just blokes who learnt a trade but have no understanding of building science.
I take your point re the BSA but a lot of this stuff isn't really to do with compliance (or safety) is it, it's about technical application and interdependencies of different components within a building. A private house could be broadly compliant but you could have loads of different issues because of poor detailing. Obviously the regs and British Standards do refer to detailing but in much broader terms that at a small domestic scale are never going to be policed in any way.
There definitely should be more technical oversight on these sorts of initiatives though I completely agree.

My Father in Law was entitled for a grant to have this that work carried out totally free of charge.
When he died, we quickly realised it made the house totally unsellable.
A sizable sum of his estate went on paying for a new roof.
I didn't realise the spray foam was funded but knew it was an issue. External wall insulation can be very problematic but if done correctly can work, the spray foam between rafters on the other hand should never have been included.
Anyone with any building knowledge could tell you from the get go that that was only ever going to cause serious problems. And yet many will have made good money from doing so.
It's a fine balance with these types of initiative though. You need enough guidelines on how and when it is applied so that it doesn't get abused, but you have to make sure it isn't such a laborious hoop jumping exercise that the take up is a failure.

The Oz government offering substantial rebates to install battery to go with my existing Solar - Yay!
Organise with company to come and install nice 20Kw batteries at home... should be enough to run my house and feed a bit back into the grid - yay
Will have a small loop of appliances that will work during blackouts - yay
Cost is 50% of what it wouldve been prior to rebates - yay
Booked date 1 - cancelled
Booked date 2 - cancelled
Installers turn up...
"Wait, your house isnt brick?... we need extra stuff" (But..I told the company exactly what my house was made of and the address so they could see all details)
"oh no we cant site the batteries there they are too big" (But... i sent the company pictures of the planned location and surroundings)
"Your meter box doesnt allow for a black out loop (But wait, the contract says a blackout loop and i sent you a picture of my meter box)
"We will have to reduce to a 15Kw system and youll have to build a cover over the new location"
We negotiate.. numerous phone calls.. the reduced size system is installed, they fit a very dodgy cover and two bright yellow bollards on my drive, disappear without telling me, leave the instructions and info laying by the batteries, no info about setting up the app and no blackout loop.
negotiations continue...
This is always the problem with government backed initiatives for energy/construction related works for householders because there are always shysters who take advantage of the system and how ready it is to hand out money.
I was reading something yesterday about external wall insulation issues over here - it was similarly something you could apply for a lot of funding for but because many people doing it had no technical understanding of the potential issues, thousands of people now have damp/mould issues that cost more to rectify than the original works.

Getting to Net Zero will be difficult and costly that much I'm sure we can all agree.
What I don't understand is frothing at the mouth at the idea that as a country we should produce more energy than we use and that fossil fuels are our old mate and renewables are the fvcking boogeyman.
Oh, and comparing the energy sec to peados, rapists and murderers.

Absolute slimeball Brendan is, isn't he. Regurgitating the same old shite.
I hope his failure continues and the Celtic fans make sure more people realise.
I've said it before and will say it again, I harbour no ill will for any of our former players or managers broadly speaking, but Brendan is an exception to the rule. It is sad really given what he achieved here but he is so up his own arse and lacking in introspection that it is too difficult to see past how it all ended.

Incredibly soft sending off for Burn, so little contact in the 2nd and not much in the first.
I find it really frustrating how contact seems to be more and more of a synonym for foul these days.
Newcastle have wasted their lead imo, looked fairly comfortable and then gave away a soft goal from the throw and now their behind.
