  1. That gets me annoyed. Character gone. Dull functionality in it's place. There must be better vision than this.
  2. Inspired, considerate architect designs taking into account the style of the older buildings in the area seem to be a thing of the past. It's all about functionality, formality, ease/cost of construction. Everything has to be at 90 degs, no obtuse or acute angles or sweeping curves.
  3. Yet again, it's the DMU supporting developers in building student accommodation. They give zero fuch's about any of our heritage buildings.
  4. Is it syrupy or more like a cordial? The stuff my wife makes is more cordial-like. I find it bitter and sharp and not very easy to take. Blackberry vinegar I mean, not my wife.
  5. Bank Account
  6. Both are true. I do wonder if the failure to understand the correct procedure for joining a motorway from a slip road is down to previous regulations preventing learner drivers from being allowed on motorways. That said, they would still have been allowed on dual carriageways where the same rules apply.
  7. I really hope so
  8. Convalescent homes. When they were a thing, there was no backlog in hospital and people being kept in A&E waiting for a bed or on the back of ambulances.
  9. And now you have diabetes?
  10. I'm surprised there isn't already a topic on this. I'm not an avid watcher and what I saw of last years series was IMO dire. This bunch seem more entertaining and interesting. I like Jack Osbourne and, surprisingly Ruby Wax, Angry Ginge seems ok as do most of them in there tbf. The tasks are much the same but it's the personalities that make the show and these seem to be more watchable than previously.
  11. I might try the 50/50 next time I have a cold. The sharpness and the resulting heartburn really detracting from any noticeable benefits
  12. Similarly, drivers joining a motorway or dual carriageway from a slip road, not understanding that it is their responsibility to, if necessary, slow down and join safely, and not the responsibility of any vehicle on the main carriageway to give way to them.
  13. As a child I remember being in a car where there was a leather strap on the side window that could adjusted by lowering or raising the glass and latching a hole in the strap onto a little brass "nodule", a bit like a trouser belt. The closest image I can find is this:
  14. Has anyone else tried this old time remedy for mild respiratory ailments? Blackberry Vinegar. My wife swears by it and it was handed down by her dad. I poo-pooed it as it didn't seem to work for me but, it seems I could be wrong: Key benefits of blackberry vinegar include: Relief from cold and flu symptoms Traditionally used as a home remedy, a tablespoon of blackberry vinegar in hot water can help soothe coughs, colds, and sore throats. The high vitamin C content in blackberries contributes to this immune support. Rich in antioxidants Blackberries are packed with antioxidants like polyphenols and anthocyanins, which help protect the body against free radicals and may lower the risk of chronic conditions like heart disease and certain cancers. Anti-inflammatory effects The compounds in blackberries have anti-inflammatory properties that can help with intestinal inflammation and soothe conditions like pharyngitis and laryngitis.
  15. I assume the pegs are to stop the choke closing too quickly. My first car had a manual choke and it did just that and would close causing the engine to misfire. I just kept pulling it out until it stopped doing it. I never really understood what a choke did but I imagined it restricted air flow to increase the richness of the fuel to air mixture. Along a similar theme, quarterlight side windows and only one wing mirror.
  16. I wasn't referring to ethnicity by colour. More the white Irish that claim ethnic minority status. As mentioned by @adam1 above.
  17. Well I'm not risking a ban by going into detail.
  18. Any reputable contractor however small should be building the basis of their clientele by being honest and reputable. So they won't answer emails or texts or phone calls? Sadly there's so many that are untraceable once the crap work has been done. I think we know, generally, their minority ethnic group. Word of mouth, if you have the access, is the best way forward.
  19. Misleading maybe, but let's face it we all know that Trump lies about everything that is negative and lies about "positives and the good things he's doing to create the image of supreme power. You might conclude that this shows BBC bias and you may be correct. But how biased is what "Truth Social" puts out as well as MAGA supporting news outlets and media in America? He hates being challenged in/by whatever forum tries it on. He ALWAYS has to be right. Plus the Panorama program wasn't broadcast in the USA and that's quite a crux for DT and his attempt to sue.
  20. If you're expecting the Trump administration to come clean then that's quite naïve. You'd be cold in the ground before (if ever) that happens,. Same with the Epstein files.
  21. Anyone ever use a dictaphone? I used my finger.
  22. Isn't that the Attraction of a Fairground?
  23. Apologies. Now deleted
