  1. I'm Rudkin and so is my wife.
  2. A great song (and album) regardless of our situation.
  3. Punting balls up to Ayew is pointless. Ayew is largely pointless. He hasn't got the pace and guile of Vardy to trick defenders and get behind. If Ayew can do anything it's only one thing and that is... erm, sorry, I've forgotten. Oh, maybe… nope... Ah yes, fall over, that's what I was trying to think of.
  4. Yeah, actually I can't remember masses of supporters casting a critical eye over Birstall players and getting pissed off if we had a laff afterwards.
  5. They've got a manager that motivates them and generates team spirit and cohesion. A manager with a vision and a plan and way of getting it embedded in her team. We've got Cifuentes
  6. Back in the day when I played local league football it wasn't uncommon to go for a pint or two in the local pub with players from the opposition. You can be rivals on the pitch but mates off it. And you have no idea what they might have been laughing at. Probably nothing to do with football.
  7. You'd think that they'd put effort in to attract the attention of better clubs and improve their CV rather than fold like a paper tissue and show no fight or even desire to win.
  8. We've gone from fearless to hopeless. How sad
  9. Quite. But women won't suffer from incontinence or erectile dysfunction which, in the latter is a often a major issue for men who would otherwise still be sexually active. That's not to dismiss the psychological and emotional trauma breast removal has on women. I don't disagree but the current tests don't discriminate between the relatively benign and the more aggressive. So you have a screening done and it comes back as positive for cancer. It doesn't define which type, and how high risk it is for you as an individual. It's only when the individual has already been identified as being in a high risk group that the test can be life saving. That's why routine screening for all men isn't the correct way forward and it should be targeted at the high risk groups as they're (potentially) already known to their doctors.
  10. If you read the article, there are genuine and balanced reasons for not mass testing men. The intention is to test those most in the highest risk groups thereby avoiding over diagnosing: "The UK National Screening Committee (UKNSC) has instead recommended that there should be a targeted screening programme for men with a confirmed BRCA1 or BRCA2 faulty gene variant, which means they are more at risk of faster growing and aggressive cancers at an earlier age. Men in that category could be screened every two years between the ages of 45 and 61, they said. The committee found that the “harms would outweigh the benefits” if it were to recommend prostate cancer screening for all men or for men with a relevant family history of cancer, as it could lead to a small reduction in the number of prostate cancer deaths but “very high levels of over-diagnosis” I think this is what over diagnosis means: The committee estimated that about 40-50% of prostate cancer cases detected by PSA screening would be slow-growing, and that further treatment and testing for these slow-growing cancers would lead to high levels of overdiagnosis and overtreatment, “causing unnecessary anxiety and lifelong side-effects such as incontinence, erectile dysfunction and bladder problems for a cancer that would never have caused harm”.
  11. On welfare. As they always do.
  12. I do wonder how many FT posters at the match are actually simultaneously "watching" whilst making knee jerk comments whilst subsequently missing parts of the game as it happens thereby making their comments irrelevant. "Fatawu is shite". 5secs later "Fatawuuuuuuu Gerrrrinnn yesssss"
  13. 3. It's very unlikely we'll get auto spot anyway regardless of any points deduction. 4, I'd rather be entertaining and competitive in a league more suited to our means than get humiliated week in week out in the PL. We've been there, we've made footballing history and that can never be unwritten. It really wouldn't bother me that much if we never made the PL again.
  14. I didn't realise such a competition still existed.
  15. Pics would be an advantage to making a judgement
  16. Finally got to see the HCP at the surgery. Advanced chest infection. Antibiotics and an inhaler. Still feel shite but I know well enough to give it at least 24hrs.
  17. Is anyone else suffering from this prolonged, persistent wet cough and shortness of breath? I've had it for over a week now and it really is debilitating. The cough keeps me awake most of the night, and I cough until I'm physically sick. I feel constantly run down and tired. Covid test was negative. And now Mrs Para has it too.
  18. Any match where I don't need to use the toilets.
  19. Talent is pushing it. Everything moves on and different generations prefer and indulge in different things. I don't begrudge anyone enjoying their TV entertainment wherever or whatever it may be, but it all seems so contrived and false and forced. The sycophantic, orchestrated audience responses on Strictly really grinds my gears to the point where the show is spoiled for me and I can't watch it anymore. If you're going to have "reality" TV shows, at least make it less contrived and more realistic.
  20. I hate Saturday night TV. On all mainstream channels.
  21. Just the foreign policy ones?
  22. IIRC nearly all of the inner ring road was originally intended to be dual carriageway. If you look as you drive around it, there's lot's of room either side of the road. I guess the money wasn't there and they settled for what we have now.
