Filbert street was great. Magical at times. I can remember us being 3 - 0 up against Man u after about 20 mins when they were 10 points clear at the top of the league. I had to endure all the man u fans at school telling me how they were going to stuff us, even my best mate, a leicester fan, turned round on the friday and said he supported man u. The following monday was so sweet. Man u managed to chuck away their 10 point lead and atkinson got the sack. Midweek games were special too. I remember peak and banks hitting belters against liverpool. Lineker missing a penalty in his last game against sunderland to get his trick. In fact lynex lineker and smith were devastating together. I can remember runing on the pitch after the last games of the season and patting the players on the back. Shaking hands with shef united fans on the track in front of the old main stand after they had won promotion. I can remember Harry Redknapp saying it was the most intimadating ground he'd been to on football focus once. Tommy Writght calling the ref a bald **** in front of the family enclosure and then shearer taking lennons head off in almost the same spot some years later. There was also the time after we had secured promotion, in 82 i think, when everyone invaded the pitch, i looked to my mum to ask if i could go on and she was already half way down the steps of the north stand shouting for me to 'come on.' There are so many more memories like Tony James' goal against oxford with other scores going our way and the roars and cheers that flushed round the ground as each stand realized it. The agony of the last fifteen minutes when all the other fixtures had finished and as it stood we were safe, unless oxford, (who were throwing everything at us) scored. Followed by a jubilant pitch invasion where the stewards and police were helping us out of pen 4 (nearly didn't get in for this game) onto the pitch. But one of the best moments was that night against camebridge. Looking around the stadium that was absolutely rocking i was bursting with pride as my team which i had been watching for as long as i could remember was going to finally realise my dream of seeing them at Wembley. This was coupled with the beleife that we were finally going somewhere. Unfortunately we had to move though. A capacity of just over 22,000 wasn't enough and the ground couldn't really be developed further. We should be grateful that we managed to find land in the city avoiding an out of town venue which would of effected the whole match day experience not to mention the loss of trade to the city. Over the years we will experience highs and lows, already two promotions and relegations. These memories will bind us to the stadium and affection will grow, and as it does so, we will develop a character and atmosphere as a group of supporters and stadium. Leicester till i die.

Your not wrong. A few years back i would of done/did do, but now i guess i'm happy to let someone else take the lead. It is easier away from home however so maybe i shall have to break out of chant starting retirement and start something new.

Dan LCFC quote:- I do agree there but be fair here - a good 100 L1'ers could've read this, but they'll probably think to themselves, "oh, that was a good chant, I'll start this now"..... "hmm, what if no-one else knows it though?", that's how I see it and I'd be the exact same sadly. Unfortunately i think your right. Unless a group of 5, 6 or maybe a group of mates start up together and keep going until its picked up i think we're stuck with dull chants that can be easily remembered after hearing it once. Having said that they would probably be met with 'what the ****ing hell is that.' Any way what do you think to my simple hear it once, easily remembered version of mrs robinson.

With regards to the atmosphere i think things could be improved if the kop was moved next to the away fans. As for getting some of these chants going there must be enough people in l1 and the kop who read this forum. If someone was prepared to start one of the new chants up they could let us know which one they were planning on doing, the rest of us could learn the words and join in, hopefully they wouldn't then die a death with the chant.

Ha ha. Cheers al didn't think it looked right. Can't even blame swype for that one so will have to blame the kids jumping all over me as I typed.

Like it. I wish we'd sing something with a tune rather than a chant or a tune that's chanted. L1 could sing like a quire if we wanted to.
-
To the tune 'i am sailing' See post on page 93 urawa red diamonds 'we are diamonds'. Sorry dont know how to put youtube clips on. We are Leicester, super Leicester, Boys in royal blue, from Filbert Way, Flying our flag forever forward, Wearing our badge on our way. We didn't shelter, from the storm, We stood together, and sang our songs, That generations, have sung before us, We are Leicester, Ciiiiiiity Na na naaa na na na naaa na ect Flying our flag forever forward, We are Leicester, Ciiiity. Anyway must go, Chris Martins on the phone.

West Ham have been a very poor premiership team for a couple of years. When we went to league 1 we rebuilt and came back a stronger squad. Just because they played premier last season doesn't mean they will be too good for the champ this year, in fact they may find they are not good enough. I felt last season that the top six of the champ could comfortably match the bottom six of the prem. If they aren't prepared, which I'm sure they will be, they could find themselves struggling to get into the top 6.

He wasn't doing sod all, he was drinking a nice hot cup of coffee. Joking aside though I totally agree with you. Our players were struggling with bad tactics to qualify for a tournament in torrential rain. Knowing the damage to their reputations and fallout from failing in the national media and abuse that not just them but their wives and children would have to face they look up for some inspiration and instruction from the touch line and see that twat stood there under his umbrella. What do you think they thought?

Hi Nige. Couldn't agree more. I suggested Kasabians LSF last season for the same reasons, see how they do it live on you tube left side right side style, i think this would sound awsome and is so simple. I think the Fosse Boys tried it but obviously it didn't catch on. A new season is approaching and successful teams need good songs, anthems even to carry our team forward as we settle into what hopefully will be a promotion winning season. Naaa naa naaaaa, na na naa naaa naaaaaa.........................................................Naaaaa naa naaaaaaa, na na naa naaaa naaaaaa.
-
After reading in the paper today that matt smith was on our books we should do the doctor who theme tune. Woo hoo woo hoo oooo ......
-
Stick with it and I'm sure it will catch on and gradually spread across the kop. That would sound awesome especially if we could then get it going in l1.
-
Regarding L.S.F. I'm half way up in L1, if any one at the back can get it going on friday then I'll try and get it going from the middle. Hopefully then it will spread. I've also got one for jobber and his drum. Basically he drums heartbeats. When we're in possession of the ball in our own half he drums slow heartbeats. As we get closer to the opposition penalty area the heartbeat quickens.
-
Instead of the beatles hey jude before games we should do kasabian's L.S.F. You know..... Na na naaa na naaa na na naaaa. We could do it from l1 to the kop and back and would be something original to us. Have a look on you tube to see how kasabian do it live at the end of the song.
