Chris Powell in NOW as Coach, to work with Kingy, then when his boss comes in as Manager (whenever he can sort out his stuff with the 'looney'), CP to be Assistant.
-
I like that idea. Powell IS out of contract and left Wednesday. Manager experience and he knows us (and Kingy). Yes, get him in, as a Coach, pending the arrival of Rohl as Manager - whenever that can be sorted.
-
Rohl has bought the crisps, but Hamza will have to fight everyone for a pack!
-
He's just arrived, after buying 15 bags of crisps for everyone, at Trowell Services!
-
Yes, but the second important question then, is, why is he buying so many packets of crisps?! Don't our people at Seagrave feed the new Manager, or are KP SO hard up, the new Manager has to buy all the crisps for everyone there (and every meeting in the future)?!

Sounds like Saints fans are rubbing their hands with glee, at the prospect of a Dyche managed Leicester. Can't believe nearly 50% of FT'ers think he's a good choice, in the poll. I tried to post a simple Rohl or Dyche poll, but no matter how many times I entered the question, I got an Error message. Can any FT member post a Poll?
-
Yep, exactly. Betting ods are fickle creatures! And I do think there's a chance that some 'Rohl updates' might come out this week - which could well have that effect.
-
Slightly worrying trend now - Dyche coming in (2/5 from 1/2), Rohl going out (7/4 from 6/4). I know, "slight betting changes, don't indicate significant news", but I still don't like it. Hopefully, there'll be some more positive updates on Rohl this week.
-
I would guess, the only reason Dyche and Rohl have swapped places in the betting in the last 18 hours (Rohl was 1/2 favourite yesterday evening, with Dyche 6/4) was because of Nixon and the article in today's Sun. However, as so many have said on this thread, Nixon is just rehashing the old report about Rudkin & Dyche being mates and restating that he would probably be a (not necessarily, the) major candidate. It's not gospel, or even based on any more up to date info that might have been put out. In fact, the most recent (semi) informed report, was via Alex Crook on Talksport on Friday, that Rohl was as much on the mix as Dyche - partly confirming what FoxinNotts has said.
-
Those are the up to date odds from that source (Bettingodds.com), but you're right, Martin is the next (4th) in the betting (8/1) - great value! Bet Victor - a far more reliable source for odds - have got Gary O'Neil, 4th in the betting (10/1).
-
Dyche just gone to favourite (1/2) - but then so was Russell Martin! Rohl 6/4.
-
I SO hope you're right. As well as bringing in a Manager who most FT'ers want, it would also likely mean the return of Chris Powell. I used to think he was the bees knees when with us last.
-
I agree with all that. Our constraints are not likely to be that attractive to Dyche, but he is such a stubborn bu**er and notoriously idiosyncratic (I was going to say, perverse, but people on here might get the wrong idea!), that he might consider it a challenge worth taking. Added to that, his mate Rudders, is likely to give him and his entourage such long and highly paid contracts, that is something he won't be able to turn down.
-
So it looks pretty certain that it will be Dyche. Hurry up guys, you can still get 13/8 at Bet Victor!
-
I'm now in the 'Carrick camp'. He may not be a great choice, but he is streets better than the likes of Dyche. Unfortunately, I don't think he's on Rudders or Tops radar.
-
I totally agree, Carrick would be OK (no more), but that is better than Dyche and certainly better than more RvN. Given the options now, I hope he gets it.
-
Carrick has come in, in the betting today - now 4/1 from 7/1. Rohl and Dyche gone slightly out. Probably not significant, but interesting.
-
These could be the reasons Brentford might have decided to stick with an internal appointment.
-
With Andrews so hot now, it sounds like McKenna will stay at Ipswich and Rohl will still be looking for a new job. I really hope we're still in the frame.
-
Keith Andrews (a Coach there - the last remaining one, with Frank taking the others) is odds on favourite for Brentford now (1/5!). McKenna down at 5/2.
-
So, tell me if I'm wrong. We will soon have 3 First team Coaches - Kingy, Andy Hughes and ten Rouwelaar (who has been linked with a move to Brighton - presumably he's in discussions with them, or others) - and a 'Manager' (currently on 'holiday'). BB-M will have gone by 5 July. SO, the two Andy's will have a lot of work to do, for the forseeable!
-
Sorry, you're right, it was the semi final - against Cov - in Carrick's first season. Mind you, when he took over that season, they were in the bottom four and flirting with relegation.
-
I'm coming round to thinking that Carrick is one the picks of the leading names mentioned. I agree that 1) Rosenior and 2) Rohl are better, but I can't see them coming. Up to this season, Carrick has never been in the frame for sacking, he's led Boro to League Cup semis and play off finals, but never got the club over the line. A 46% win record is good. He's got a positive style of play, gets defensive stability and his Coaching background at United, was considered outstanding. He got financial backing and support from Steve Gibson up to this season, but I think has been let down this year. I agree there are better candiates out there, but we're unlikely to see them. There is one issue. He's big mates with Kieran McKenna, since their time Coaching together at United. If McKenna goes to Brentford, I wouldn't be surprised if he recommended Carrick for Ipswich. However, he is a far better bet than Dyche! PS He's married to a Leicestershire lass - from Wymondham. Perhaps she'll encourage a move 'home'?!
-
I agree with that. I'd much rather have BBM than Dyche. At least he gives us a BIT of stability - and I don't think he should be tarred with the same brush as RvN - Ruud seems like the sort of guy who won't take much advice from Assistants. I don't think Barry-Murphy can be blamed for this season's disasters.
-
Yep, sounds like it's happening - new owners there. Crazy decision. I'd take Wilder - certainly better than Dyche.
