I think one of the reasons Maresca used him further forward, as he can press well and tackle. So having him that higher up allowed us to break up play and turnover higher. The issue having him deep is that he can pass and move like the other midfielders.

Agreed. His pressing game was significantly better than Vardy and I personally thought we looked better as a team / unit when he lead the attack. His finishing has been so off though. After that goal against West Ham, I really, really wanted him to kick on, as he’s shown in patches he has the ability. I’m not sure if he just needs a different environment to work in, or if Marti can unlock that potential.
