A friend was having a difficult time mentally with stress at work so decided to take his 2 dogs for a walk. This was Monday.

He returned home an hour or so later. His mind was so preoccupied with what was going on at work that he forgot the dogs were in the car.

About 15 mins later he suddenly remembered and went to the car to get them both in.

    They were both dead. :(

    That is, so, so sad.

The Vichai thing is very hard. I think it's somewhere in the middle of him being both fortunate, but personable enough to at least keep it a 'happy' club (can't think of a better way to describe this). I don't think you can describe the whole operation as being that well run because there were plenty of cockups during his time as well.

I flip-flop a lot on him. I hear the likes of Pearson really talk him up and think there has to be something to it. But we were definitely pretty lucky as well.

He's obviously another level to his idiot son but when I see people say we've gone from the best run club in the country to the worst. Well I don't think we were ever the best run club in the country (we are certainly the worst now).

Yes; I’ll agree with this in fairness.

Reflecting on what @AKCJ typed as well, you do make an element of your own luck and he did build a competent team around him.

People always spoke highly of Susan Whelan as well, who was a Vichai appointment.

I'd imagine that Top has been cut away from running KP for the exact reasons he is doing at our club now........from what i've read his mother(who is in charge of a failing buisness) is not interested in football at all.......our club is just a plaything to keep Top out of the way from the KP buisness, buy a few horses, but just keep him away!

If you want a play thing, it’s much cheaper running a club in Belgium, than in England.

At some point, he needs to cut loose and sell us.

Nope, I've run enough business to know the money is owed to a bank. Call it what you like the money is owed. It's a payday loan nothing more.

It can be done both ways but in fairness.

If we are factoring, it blows my mind that we are using Vampire bank, rather than utilising the King Power finances.

Unless King Power has cut the money on a vanity project / money pit, which isn’t great either way.

We will finance the El Khannous and Fatawu sales I’d imagine.

Rendezvous at motorway service stations (shame Transport Cafes are a rarity these days). = proper football :P

    Currently sat at Gloucester Services.

    I can’t see John Rudkin.

I think this is maybe a bit too classy for him and Top though.

  6. In fairness, I was burnt out after a terrible season so haven’t really engaged with football for a few weeks. I‘d like to have filled this in with hindsight,

I listened to the BSLB podcast yesterday and I thought whoever represented the @Foxes_Trustspoke well. Making a valid point that you can now register as a free member, which I will take up.

I’m going to do this today.

I’ll also jump onto this later.

Melton Mowbray. I've honestly never known this type of weather. Whats worse is the water had filled up (10cm high) a step outside my dining room and there was no escape and it started leaking thru the patio doors. (Note to self to get new doors)  So just spent the best part of 2 hours mopping the wooden floor which will probably be damaged after being sat under 3cm of water ffs.
Had some respite for about 45 mins but its started again with thunder / lightning, hail and rain. Im dreading going into dining room tomorrow ;(

    Wow! That much!

I’m currently down in Somerset and it’s still bloody warm with no rain in sight.

    Google Thai Human Rights Violations.

    Google Thai King.

Google picture paraded at LCFC title parade.

Google statue of person outside the LCFC stadium. Who became a billionaire virtually overnight.

Google LCFC sponsorship over the last 10 years, including a “visit Thailand” shirt sponsor at our highest peak.

You don’t get a monopoly to print money (which they’ve ****ed up still) unless your sucking the cock of the guy ordering some pretty horrible things.

Let’s not take the piss here. Plenty of atrocities just by another, less scrutinised govt. I tell you what though, neither Man C, Newcastle or PSG have a pic of guy leading it paraded on the pitch in some sort of cult hero worship.

If instead people are saying, it’s a lesser evil - that’s a moral question not sure if I can say the same. It’s shit owners whether it’s Arab, Greek, American on Thai. The thing is, the other 3 seem to have some business acumen. As shown here and Sheff wed (perhaps even Cardiff) luck is very much needed for the Asian owners

I think I read that Thailand has a gambling mentality. We rolled the dice and lost.

What do we own. A few young players.  We don’t own stadium or training ground but we got a big loan to the bank.

They’re all owned by the King Power Group.

Stadium is King Power Holdings and on hire purchased to the club, extended until 2036

Belvioir Drive has covenants on what can happen with it.

The training ground sits as a liability on Leicesters book and has a book value of £40m from memory.

One the most innovative tools back in the day. I still have one. I used it frequently when we got our first home and did a lot of DIY.

Now with smaller battery tools and such, it has become pretty much redundant.

That said, someone needs to develop a battery screwdriver that will be able to access small tight spaces.

You can get the battery screwdrivers on Amazon. They just come with a really long slong to get into tight places.

Yeah this is really bad. Blows my mind why they even have a dog

My wife and I were discussing this earlier.

How do dogs in hotter countries cope? We came to the conclusion they’re more acclimatised to it!

  11. I do find this weather unbearable. I’m far happier on a mild 15 - 20c and the sun being out.

I think wearing sun cream makes it worse though, as I just feel greasy and sticky.

It’s the humidity that does it, more than the heat though. As you sweat and can’t cool down.

Im not sure how somebody owning all our assets...is good, if you want to buy the club buy it fully,

When you buy assets like stadiums and training facilities, its a money grab, you know the club need a cash injection, so you buy assets and then hold them to ransom,

I dont see anything positive coming from this, and stinks of bad business acumen "AGAIN"

Realistic view is it’s additional investment from an outside financier.

King Power Holdings already own the stadium. The club have that on a hire purchase agreement, so we are efficiently paying rent to use it.

Of they did the same with the training ground and sold it for “x” millions, that would give the club / king power a cash injection but then they’d be paying rent to use it. Depends on what the book value of Seagrave is Vs the fair market assessment. I’m not entirely sure if this is even permissible under the new finance laws now.

Knowing our looking, the Leicestershire based property companies looking to invest is King Power Holdings.

    Not much left

It could make us a lot worse though.

If you ignore that the ground is on hire purchase from King Power Holdings, you’d have:

    Stadium

    Training ground

    Additional Land purchased

    Academy players

    Offloading first team players

Maintenance at a minimal until stuff is sold etc

It could be the pits and turn into a Sheffield Wednesday situation.

Possibly. I'd suggest most businesses would prefer 2 people on 40 hours than 3 on 60 hours though. Better productivity that way.

Do think the policy could help sectors where skilled people are lacking though.

I was thinking instead of having 5 people doing 40 hours + overtime, they’d employ 3 people and let them do 60+ hours each.

    Lowering the headcount.

You’d be lowering your fixed costs, so when work gets quieter, they’d rely on the goodwill of its people to undertake overtime.

You could also see the model have a stress toll on smaller teams, if / when it almost becomes expected, rather than the norm. It’s that balance of burnout vs mental health.

I say this though as someone that doesn’t get paid overtime! I’m sure some would welcome the change in law.
