How are the Swiss feeling about their World Cup so far? Disappointing opening result against Qatar, although on another day they could have won that 5-0. Big win against Bosnia, and a good solid performance to knock off Canada. They appear to quietly be going about their business and no one is talking about them. If they get through this Colombia or Ghana, followed by potentially Argentina.

Haven’t they got a sensor in the ball this time to know about things like that. The only question for me is it clearly comes off the Portugal player last, did he deliberately play at the ball? Haven’t seen a replay on that.

Based on the teams we’ve seen so far in the knock out stages, it’s hard to see anyone anywhere near France. It’s France huge gap, and a whole load of mediocre teams who can perform well on any given day, but can all beat each other. it will be interesting to see if Spain, Portugal or Argentina can produce anything that looks like the sort of form that could challenge.

Not sure what’s wrong with me, but I really enjoyed that! I think for the most part we actually played quite well, and controlled the game. Their keeper made 3 or 4 top saves. We looked a lot better when Gordon came on, I actually quite liked the look of us when Rice moved to right back. Kane is class, when you’ve got a player like that in your team, you’re never out of a game.

Rashford and Madueke need to come off now, I actually think outside of those two it’s not been too bad outside the first half 20 minutes. We’re getting into good positions and creating chances those two wingers have just been woeful.

Madueke their best player, so lazy and Spence, whilst not the best, has been left 2 on 1 far too often. Not great, defensively we look a shambles, but going forward we’ve actually been okay and better than the last 2 games. We’ve had at least 3 clear cut opportunities, and should have had a penalty.

It’s a penalty every day of the week, the keeper has dived in, not made contact with the ball and made contact with the player. Anywhere else on the pitch it’s a foul, I’ve never in all my years watching football seen that not given.

That’s a penalty all day long…

It’s the work rate as much as anything that’s doing my head in watching this. It’s one thing not having the ability, and being a little bit shit. But the work rate from some of these so called top players is disgraceful.

Wow this Mexico team look up for it, I don’t think anyone would want to play these at the Azteca.

Paraguay and Australia are about on the same level. Id say Morocco are a better team than Colombia, but Colombia will give Argentina a much more physical encounter than Morocco will. I would imagine they both get through, but in terms of tournament football and preserving players for the bigger games, I’d rather play Morocco than Colombia. The semi, again both get through if they are firing, but the derby nature and the physicality of a match against Brazil in a World Cup semi, will be tougher than a game against Spain where both teams will knock the ball around and give each other a good game, but won’t be nearly as physical. In terms of sheer quality, Morocco and Spain is a tougher route, but in terms of getting through fit and well, I think I’d rather be in France’s shoes.

I don’t know about that, with the Germans going out. France potential route is: Paraguay, Morocco, Spain. Argentina is Cape Verde, Australia, Colombia, Brazil or England. I think I’d prefer France’s path.
