Exactly this. The channel is in no way culpable.
Can only presume the fella is in full panic mode that he's possibly about to lose his life's work and raisin detre. I have some sympathy on a human level with that. But on a practical level - of leading an organisation that should hold the club to account and be its conscience, its soul - he's well past his bedtime.
In fact, wouldn't be a bad idea that any serving board member is restricted to, sy, 5/8/10 years.
Some people are scared of change and defend the status quo. But it is high time for change.... look where we are.
Things are changing in football... and that includes the role and position of supporters trusts. Look at the mess our club is in on and off the field.
Top seems content with his advisors... but even his latest pr initiative seems to have made things worse.
So, our supporters trust must be able to speak up to encourage the club to be much much better on and off the field. Look where the trust's appeasement (a diplomatic strategy of making concessions to avoid conflict) has got us.
So we need a trust with a new appoach.
Now mr Bason is playing the "project fear" card.... he is scared yet he is mistaken.... its not about protest or "walking away". Yes we do want a better FEF... yes we do want a trust that will call out the club and work with the club to make the club better.... and to make the relationship with the fans better-

To me we had a model of selling a big name player every summer, to top up normal income. For this model to keep working it would require recruitment to be good enough that there would be a ready made replacement for the player leaving. Ideally one that had already been groomed in the squad so recruited at least one summer before.
This obviously requires good scouting, good sports analysis team, good negotiation on recruitment.
We were primarily aiming to recruit young up and coming players, who would later become big sales, for this to work at its best these would be signed initially on long contracts combined with lower than average wages for the squad. This then puts us under less pressure to sell quickly if its evident they wont renew, less pressure on wage budget, easier to sell if they dont make the grade, and more stability in the squad when do they make the grade. So e.g. a 6 year contract we could sell end of year 3, having keeping the original signing wages for the entire period, and still be selling with 2 years remaining. On a 4 year contract, if the player doesnt extend, and you sell with 2 years remaining you only get 2 years out of the player which is too short if you ambitious and want to keep improving. If you decide to risk it, to get more out of the player you then risk ending up where we did with a player leaving for nothing and being rubbish in their final year.To me there is clear mismanagement of the squad from a recruitment, contractual and sales point of view. The obvious factors making sales a challenge are excessive wages given out and also a misguided idea that a player cannot be sold for less than book value. This led to us with a high annual spend, and being crippled on squad changes. Even crippled to the point we couldnt afford to sack a manager. Absolutely horrid directorship.
All the years after that horrid summer to me have shown no lessons have been learned. Also an embarrassment in terms of dodgy sponsorships, repeatedly in the news for breaches of spending limits, not cooperating with rule makers, its a show of arrogance and feeds those who want us to be heavily punished.
There is a phrase from F1 when the ex Red Bull team principle commented on Renaults failure of having ambitions to win but combined with a pound shop budget. I see that as similar to Top telling managers to make us play like Pep Man City, but without a squad of players suited to it and the quality of coaches required for it.
I seriously would take a much poorer owner now if they were competent, and communicated as well. However they wouldnt be able to afford us, the club is not an attractive buy.
King Power will value the squad at book value which will be a clear over valuation, the training grounds will be factored in to buying the club. Plus whatever compensation KP will want on top of that, its going to take a wealthy entity to buy this club, unless we go in the direction of Sheff Wed, which is a plausible possibility if we not promoted again soon. But probably looking at a few years for that to be a possibility. We should never over pay wages as it prevents us from moving players on.
We should sell any player who will not extend their contract with 12mths to go.
The book value does not represent the current msrket value of a player. I doubt we should ever sell for book value.... sometines it will be higher some lower

Yes it is unfortunate - they weren't so significant when we dreamt of reforming the foxes trust... but it would be confusing to change now!
However, after this election we can just focus on moving forward as the foxes trust as a whole. In the long term we want a healthy trust with a range of contributors of different views and a reasonable churn.
Ian bason keeps saying we want to walk away from engaging with the club but this is untrue - we want to work with the club so that they engage with the fan base much much better.... offering democratic access and responding to the concerns of the fans... (The FAB is a joke in this respect-- and "the 5 levels of engagement" are there to allow the club to be distant from difficult issues!)
Similarly we want the trust to be professional, open and clear in articulating where the clubm ust do better.I see this as a journey.... that both radical and non radical fans can see as a good thing. Soon we can stop talking about "the old guard" v "reformers" and instead talk about a trust focusing on working to improve the club's performance and its relationship will ALL fans.
So the R word may not be with us for much longer if that helps....-

Changing the manager won't change anything. There's deep rooted issues at the club that need sorting first.
Things like the players not trusting the club, no money, incompetent board, loads of players likely to leave as soon as they can or have tried to leave but have been unsuccessful.
It's just toxic all round on every level.
I would say that the manager is the least of our worries.
The technical director appointment comes first... followed by identification of all those to be let go.
We then need to identify the style and talent management approach going forward ....which will guide the retention and hiring off and on the field

“Set up a Fan Advisory Board comprised of largely club-pickedindividuals?”
The Foxes Trust agreed a process to ensure the club could NOT hand pick the fan representatives which has happened at some other clubs. The 6 fan reps were allocated as follows:
1 place for the Foxes Trust, chosen by the Foxes Trust Board
2 places elected by fans on the previous Fan Consultative Committee (those who obtained the most votes happened to be on the FCC representing other fan groups, but are not officially representing those groups on the FAB, only the Trust is directly represented)
3 places from an application & interview process. The short listing for interviews was carried out by club & trust representatives. The interview panel consisted of club, trust and Football Supporters Association representatives. Therefore if a candidate did not have the support of the trust & FSA, they would not be appointed. The interview panel had detailed discussions before agreeing the 3 people selected.
Therefore none of the fan representatives were club hand picked
Oh dear

The previous Fan Consultative Committee included 2 places for each fans group, who those groups chose to represent them at the meetings was completely the choice of the individual fan groups. For the elections to the FCC any fan group representative who had attended the FCC could have put them self forwards, so we’re not club selected
The rest of the previous FCC applied to be on it & yes the club only selected (with the aim of different parts of the stadium & demographics being represented). This was why the Trust ensured the club alone could not select for the FAB (as previously described)
Included in the “select group of fans” on the previous FCC was one of the current Foxes Trust board members who stood as part of Foxes Trust Reform at the previous election.
In terms of TIFO’s, Union FS do not have to run designs via the FEF, they just talk to the club as previously, the only involvement is when full stand displays are requested, not in terms of the actual design, but that a larger set of fans need to take part, the aim is to have wider consultation to determine the majority involved want to take part (so evaluate if the complaints received by the club represent more widely held views or a small minority)
Everyone in the Fcc is club appointed... the club pretends that the FCC is a democratic path to the FAB.
The current FAB is an echo chamber to make the club feel safe while appearing to engage with fans. Yet they are engaging with their own loyalists.
A wise club would be curious to reach out and build an understanding with those who question their behavior.... they might find it an enlightening path that makes them better. Do they dare?

A big fat weapons grade categorical No.
The Nepo Baby's whole outlook and approach to the club needs radical and major changes, however its plain as your nose that he simply can't implement theses or is too stubborn and arrogant to admit he's doing anything wrong to warrant action.
Our current woes aren't an overnight thing, and after 5 or 6 years of steady decline, suffering 2 religations, incompetent financial operations that now require a points deduction as punishment and the need to sack two managers in quick succession, if he can't see there's a problem at the club he'll just confirm what we all suspect...he's a tw@t, and a tw@t who's had plenty of time and clear warnings to do something.
Top is playing with his own reputation. leadership would be to recognise the scale of the job to turn things round and to appoint a DOF capable of doing it.

The KPFC lovers though think the noise is about us not winning a game. They’ll attribute any discontent amongst the fans to that if we don’t beat Stoke
Any members of the foxes trust who think that the current owners are doing a good job should cancel their membership and join the official supporters club. Come the next board elections the Foxes Trust will be much more challenging - speaking out where the club needs to listen.

less hope of selling VK now!

The FAB is a disaster. Hand picked members - picked by the club. IT was never going to be able to demand answers to tough questions. Prior to it being set up I met with Ian bason and urged the trust to walk away - yet the board at the time wanted to keep on being cozy with the club. Surely the folly of this is now clear (- I think they said as much at the at AGM) - it is time for the trust to walk away from the FAB. Anthony specialises in non engagement.

Plenty wrong imo
He could no longer get a tune from Tielemans, Barnes, Maddison, Soyuncu who all left for bigger and better clubs than us.
Clearly also Rodgers was given more reign (than we normally give a manager) in terms of signing who he wanted- how else did we end up with Benkovic, Bertrand and Bennett? That view is backed up by us signing Rodgers’ mate (forgot his name now) who had an awful reputation and went on to briefly manage Atlanta
The fault of the board was giving him that reign, and agreeing to the signings and putting them on ridiculously long contracts. Not the actual choosing of players.the board bet the farm on rodgers

I can tell you Graeme thinks this. I had a lengthy debate with him on this, probably poorly articulated from my side. But in essence he labelled all KPFC chants in the same bracket and so did others such as the Brock. They think they're above other fans.
Just to say it is not KP that own the club - it is Top's family and the Chinese fella. It could be that some racists don't like the owners. Yet it could be tat some people who are not racists think the owners are allowing the club to go to pot. It cant be that ALL fans expecting better from the owners ... or wanting new ownrers...are racists. If Graeme things this he is wrong.
For me it is clear we need a rebuild of the squad - Rudkins use of money his very inefficient (eg: skip et al) so surely they can see that he is not the DOF for the job. If they cant see this and sort it then thery need to look at themselves. I says Top - grow some and get a DOF whom can rebuild the club.

Foxes Trust Reform - the final step
in Leicester City Forum
Posted · Edited by foxinsocks
We reformers want a trust that is relevent and stands up to the club to improve the club. To be important we need to increase membership... and that will only happen if fans believe that trust membership is worthwhile. We do want a much much better FEF. And we do think a board with diverse opinions and reasonable churn is healthy.
Times are changing. The board of the trust is too tired... they are not wicked... but their softly softly approach has failed us all. ..
their day is gone
