Disappointing to hear Graeme Smith on the When You're Smiling podcast going down the hate crime and police involvement route in response to this. Feels a bit out of touch.

Is this really what the fan base want from the Fan Engagement Framework and individuals on the Fan Advisory Board that are there to represent them?

Such a shame the Trust signed up to this nonsense and have Ian Bason as their representative playing a part in it...

How did we get here? The chanting is an extreme - most fans have a more moderate reaction to the performance of the club and board.  Yet just coz there are a few more extreme fans doesnt mean there is nothing wrong - Top is supporting rudkin.  Whatever happens this season no one can think rudkin is the guy to reset the squad - so either top gets a new DOF or he needs to look at himself.

This is my take on things as it currently stands, it is now or never for me, either there needs to be significant change to how we operate as a club both on the pitch and commercially or it’s time for new ownership.

Top has an opportunity to shake it up by appointing an experienced football operator as CEO to replace Susan Whelan and also accept that it’s time to freshen it up on the football side as well by moving Rudkin into  another role within the KP sporting organisation and bring in a new fresh thinking DoF but also accept it’s time to step back and allow these people the authority to do their jobs effectively and restructure the club and playing style to better fit the needs of the modern game and to establish our own LCFC identity.

We need to rebuild the scouting, analysis and sports science side of the club, like it was under Pearson as we were head and shoulders above the rest.

In regard to the obsession of playing like Man City this has become a millstone around our necks, we are no longer capable of playing this way and in truth it’s outdated, we need to find our LCFC style and identity, football moves forward and you have to continue to be progressive and tweak your style to stay competitive, we haven’t and I truly believe this is because this was Vichai’s vision when he appointed Puel, and Top is reluctant to move away from that style and doubled down on it by asking Maresca to play like Man City.

It feels like the club is still working to the blueprint that Vichai had in place and unfortunately football moves quickly and currently we are afraid to move forward and perhaps change from that vision.

This is where Top needs to show real leadership and not be afraid to make big decisions that are required to move the club forward again and to protect the legacy of his father.

Football is ever changing and very different from even 6/7 years ago however to us whilst players and managers come and go very little has changed in the structure of how we run our club.

It is all too familiar and as a result the culture and standards continue to decline, the club needs new impetus, fresh ideas and a cultural reset, that can only come with systemic change including personnel, structure, direction, leadership and behaviour.

We cannot continue to drift along operating in the same manner as we did 6,7, 8 years ago, we have to be agile and dynamic. The time has come for Top to make tough decisions and build a new era for the club that shapes us for the future if he cannot make those changes or is unwilling to change then I think it’s time for him to accept that he has taken the club as far as he can and that it’s the right thing to sell to someone who has the energy and vision to take us forward in a different direction.

No one can think rudkin has the record to be the one to rebuild our squad.   Top must get the right guy in asap.  If top doesn't do that then he needs to step aside.

Recording tonight, any topics you want covering? I'm not bothered about our football club and the present day so keep it interesting please.

Away from lcfc, can we look at Norwich City: they have a DOF who has bought in duff players and yet it is the manager who gets sacked....  a new manager may of may not get  tune out of the squad but will the board really let the DOF carry on?   (This despite having sponsors who are not making money by harming people - unless there is something in Willy's pies).
What kind of club allows such a situation to develop.

  4. When there is discontent then there is always a spectrum of reactions.  In this case many fans are unhappy with the running of the club... eg. Rudkins role in the squad we have , the board appointing a gambling sponsor or the lack of fan engagement.  Some fans might write in... others might chant derogatory things...and a few will call for the death of principals.

The club must not make the mistake that the existence of a few hot heads means that the general feeling amongst fans can be ignored.

How did we get here?  Can Top look at himself?

Thing is a couple of games ago he missed some great chances but at least he got in the position to miss. Nobody else is even doing that so I'd have given him a pat on the back, kept him in the team and told him to keep getting into positions. One goal could change the finishing.

It is worth a try -  we have the squad we have.  IMO each of these guys needs a personal coach to review their decision making (clip by clip) and emphasise the good.  A  sports psychologist might be helpful to each also.
    WE should practice corners.

It’s a tough call, my shout in the summer was to offer Danny Ings 1 year but so far for Sheff Utd he has no goals in 8 games. We should have been in a position to poach someone who had a good championship season last season but finances ruled that out. Were left with a flop, a veteran and essentially a trialist. Best hope if for one of the youth to come in but can they get double figures in their first season?

I can bring my boots - I am 65 years old but I think I could finish one cross per game

Nobody truly knows how difficult it is to inherit a billion pound fortune and know how to do the correct thing with it. It must be horrible for Top, and no wonder he is close to Rudkin as he’s helping him to navigate the real world. He’s trying his best and we MUST support Top, King Power and Rudkin in this difficult time. Ultimately unless you’ve walked a day in a billionaire’s shoes, especially those who have close relationships with royal families and corrupt national governments, then you know nothing about real struggle. Support the lads. KPFC forever 💙

    This is satire right?

100% nailed it Claudio. We don't back managers which is why we only get tepid returns out of them. Enzo wasn't backed when he felt he needed reinforcements in the promition bid. Cooper wasn't perfect obviously, but was not backed by the club conducting the worst transfer window in living memory with Skipp, Ayew, BDCR, Edouard before sacking him for poor petformance from those players and picking up some results. Ruud was not backed in the window despite being promised reinforcements. All of them tried to freeze out the toxic wasters to some degree but these efforts ultimately not supported by the board and have allowed this ridiculous situation where so called 'senior' players have the chairman on speed dial to have a moan when they are asked to do things by the manager that they don't agree with.

There is an inefficiency between the money spent on players and league performance - this is primarily because of manager turnover.  Clubs need to stick with a manager and have a DOF who finds the players to fit the agreed framework.  Rapid turnover of managers and buying to meet their "immediate needs" leads to a jumble sale squad at best - and expensive payers who are not played at worst.  It all starts with the right DOF, ten manager, then building the right squad over 2 to 4 years.  Right now we have no idea where we are going playing wise (or any other wise)

He's Papy Mendy with an attitude problem.

He's right in the bomb squad for me if I'm manager. Another player who has taken the piss and been rewarded for it. Even given the captaincy on occasion.

What the hell does this club even stand for? There is not a jot of self-respect.

Van Nistelrooy was right about him.

I hear hes getting married.  His problem is finding a new club... he is not good enough for the epl but thinks he is.  Cant see the wife wanting to go to Europe.

Do people actually believe what he says.  He is great at giving the public and fans what they want to hear.

He talks the talk for sure, but the guy is clueless and does nit have the balls to put this club straight and challenge the player fraternity

I will put you down as a maybe

    Absolutely !!

My god our fans have some patience !!

Our Only hope now is relegation as our fans are all mouth and no action but hey,  rest assured Aiyawatt will hang himself eventually as we’ve been in decline for years so he really doesn’t need any help does he, and there’s only one way we’re going while he’s here.

So I welcome the decline, sit back and enjoy the ride to League 1 because success will only see Aiyawatt stay and ffs I don’t want that

I am jealous of sheff wed fans... they will get a committed new owner

Your banging a drum that falls on deaf ears , he’s not going to do that it’s pretty obvious

Waste of time pointing fingers at Rudkin whilst the owner does nothing !

    All fingers point to Aiyawatt

I suspect that pressure in Thailand may prevent top from selling  (i hope not)... so we have to push him to put the club on the right track.

Imo a new owner would be best for us fans now..  yet I think it unlikely to happen

Agree. If he won't sack rudkin (a first step to rebuilding) then we have to call for  him to get out of our club

Oh I agree, we will be in League One soon with this direction.

This will be the direction of travel until we can rebuild a competitive squad.... abd that requires rudkin goes.... and that requires top to go

To me he looks cooked. Sort of player you can see being all but retired by 30

When that chance fell to him second half I didn’t expect him to score.

He is not what he was 2 years ago

What were the tactics today? Genuinely if I had one thing to cling on to I'd be all for Marti staying. I like him as a person. He certainly has more about him as a man than someone like Rudkin or Top will ever have. But let's stop pretending he's doing a good job or this was inevitable. It's a disgrace.

ITs more the other way round - you can sack marti or keep him (- that's a different debate)... the real sickness in the club is that the squad needs rebuilding and rudders isnt the guy to do it (he is the architect of the currrent situsation) yet Tpp wont sack him. therefor for the longer term we need a new owner who will bring is a real dof.
