  1. Finally a clean sheet. Felt we did a lot more to stop crosses into the box. Something to build on.
  2. Personally would have moved castagne to centre back and brought Marc on rb
  3. Teams around us showing some real fight and desire. Wolves, Villa, Leeds. Time for our lot to show some passion tomorrow, but I doubt it.
  4. If you think a right winger is the answer to a team that’s conceded 40 goals, I am not sure what you are watching.
  5. Said it before the game, with our upcoming fixtures he’ll likely be gone by Jan.
  6. I wish we had someone with the same level of sh**housery. Lookman appeared scared of him.
  7. Agreed. The most noticeable was Matty Cash, he didn't give Barnes a second to breathe in the second half, after a torrid first 45. You could tell Gerrard had fired him up.
  8. Perhaps it is short term thinking, but in football you can't plan too far ahead anyway. As you say the fresh new voice may quickly become stale. My worry is that the current 'long term' voice has become stale also. I guess we shall see over the remainder of the season.
  9. Agreed Top seems to trust him to turn it around. And I hope he can also, as I also don't want us to become a club who often sacks managers. However, I will say sometimes the 'calibre' of a manager is not the be all and end all. Sometimes a fresh voice is needed from someone who may not be of the same 'calibre' but gets a better tune out of the players. As I say, I am still Rodgers in.
  10. perhaps not quite enough to be sacked, but lose those 4 league games in December and that could leave us dangerously close to the bottom 3. I am still Rodgers in btw, but December's fixtures will seal his fate either way I think.
  11. WARD AMARTEY EVANS CASTAGNE ALBRIGHTON NDIDI THOMAS KDH MADDERS KELECHI VARDY 3 at the back, with Castagne supporting Thomas down the left. N'didi sitting protecting the back 4. Madders and KDH ratting, with Kelechi marking the deepest lying midfielder. Keeping a clean sheet for the first 45 is crucial, lets build from there.
  12. I wouldn't say a loss on Thursday is enough to warrant him being sacked. However, if we lose Thursday and don't beat Newcastle at home on Sunday, then I think it will be time for a change. If by some miracle we beat both Napoli and Newcastle, I fear he may then be gone by the end of the year anyway. When you look at the remaining fixtures in December, it doesn't look great for us. Spurs (H) Everton (A) Liverpool (A) (cup) Man City (A) Liverpool (H)
  13. We must be the most naïve team in the league. Anyone who plays any level of football knows, when you commit a foul you either pick up the ball, allow your team to get back into shape and throw it back, or stand in front of the ball so the opposition can’t play quickly. I know its not great to watch but being good at ‘the dark arts’ picks up points, we could learn a lot from players like McGinn and Ashely Young yesterday. We are just too nice currently.
