Trying to get back on course the theme of the comments in the Premier League, 2017-2018 Season Thread. My concern is that the Premier League is now out of control, its not truly competitive because it basically its not a level playing field. Several of the top 4-5 clubs have unlimited spending power, the mid group of teams including the Foxes have very average funding, but can't compete with the top 4-5, several of the ones below do not have the financial backing to compete with the ones above them. The top 4 can cherry pick the most expensive players and pay them £millions per year. This puts the mid and lower table clubs out of contention and more or less (except for our unique achievement 2 seasons ago) guarantees them a top 4 European place every year, the rest in reality have no chance. A very radical change has to be made to create a level playing field and competitive league. I suggest take a look at premiership rugby league which has a salary cap for every club. A much fairer system producing close competitive games and no guarantees who will win the league each season. Could this work with our league ?
