  1. I am really disappointed seeing that.
  2. According to the guardian app, this decision has been made to gain favour from Islamic countries, in the face of their treatment of Uyghur Muslims.
  3. When you consider that wales are the east anglia of the west, they did well.
  4. You may consider the actions of Israel’s government to be vile but I can’t agree with your wording condemning the whole state of Israel.
  5. I have seen pictures and I’m gutted, it’s bizarre. It was clearly designed by someone who has never been for a drink there.
  6. Let us hope that doesn’t happen(number of deaths you suggest). However, given the protests and demonstrations for Palestine we have already seen this week, I am certain that they will be remembered.
  7. I would assume the reasoning behind such a statement is to convey to the rest of the world the scale of impact on Israel, this has had. This is an epoch event for Israel and perhaps even for Jewish communities around the world, I think Blinken’s quote was entirely appropriate.
  8. Football Manager.
  9. Being there and seeing his goal was better than winning the league.
  10. Well. I had a theakston pale ale from the Hind this evening. Staff were great and beer had been kept to an acceptable level. Will go again prior to using the station. Four choices on cask!
  11. Because they support King Power FC
  12. Yes BBC verified are excellent. I don’t have social media, except foxestalk if that counts! The decision being demonstrated by times like this when horrific unpoliced and unverified videos and images pop up, whilst armchair experts offer their opinion on them. It’s scary that when I talk to friends and acquaintances, they use social media as if this is acceptable evidence for whatever their claims are. There has been a real tangible increase since Covid, we’re now seeing it enter mainstream politics with false claims about 15 minute cities and so on.
  13. is the video verified? That is an act beyond human comprehension if real.
  14. Unfortunately there will likely be more confirmed as well as Brits, due to the duel nationality that many Israeli’s have. It does not mean there will be an escalation on the U.S’s part hopefully, Gerald Ford is sitting by the coast in case Syria get involved (according to a number of verified experts on Sky News).
  15. Surely that is the decision of the politicians rather than IDF, therefore it is not necessarily a great supporting example of any alleged misdemeanours by the IDF. I have worried for Israel and subsequently any possible peace process progress for months, a result of Bibi Netanhayu’s judicial reforms. I believe Gallant(above) was nearly sacked as he opposed these reforms but protests from Israeli’s changed Bibi’s mind. My parents have hosted Palestinian children over the years and I hope they are all keeping safe. The potential retaliation into Gaza is going to be incredibly dangerous for all residents. In addition, I find the scenes of jubilation in this country at the acts of Hamas terrorists incredibly vile. Anti-semitism is clearly rife, you only have to see the security enforced at Jewish schools in Manchester and London, in comparison to other faith schools to understand the fear this causes the Jewish communities in this country. I would recommend people listening to the pod save the world podcast episode that was recorded over the weekend. They hit the right balance of making sure this outright act of terrorism condemned, but calling for, as many posters have above, a need to find a solution to this historic problem. This act of terrorism by Hamas did not occur in a vacuum.
  16. Thankfully there aren't many clapper near me but a drum has to be used properly.
  17. One thing I didn’t like yesterday, it may just be personal preference, was the drum being played during the post horn gallop.
  18. Doesn’t look comfortable making forward passes, got caught out twice with the ball over the top. However, he did make some good covering tackles due to his pace. He certainly wasn’t bad yesterday.
  19. I saw he made a special effort to acknowledge Union FS at full time, to an extent. Plus him actually living within the city boundary, makes me happy to know he’s captain for many of our games this season. Feels like he loves being at the club. They like to wheel him out for media duties, he speaks intelligently and concisely for someone who is speaking in a second language!
  20. Would persist with Abdul and Yunus as our main wingers for a few games, they have a higher ceiling than Mavididi.
  21. Yes I saw that, now the Uni has relinquished control over some of the buildings in Castle view, I wonder how busy it’ll be that way. DMU liked to sell that area as part of their campus offering.
  22. Yeah I was planning on enjoying the garden this weekend, before and after the foootball, but think it may better for a quite pint on the way home on a Monday night! -edit- don’t even think it’s open on a Monday!
  23. Always nice to see a midfielder who is intelligent rather than physically imposing, complements the other midfielders who can use their stamina or physicality to influence games.
  24. Went to the Castle Inn today. It's alright, think the artwork inside is poor and not very personal to the location! Beer is well kept, happy to have Charnwood Brewery all the time, but not much choice on cask, which is to be expected due to size of the place. Also apprehensive of how good the pub could be from the staff who served me, remember them from other local premises.
  25. I think West Brom will comfortably find themselves in the top 6. If they had a decent striker I’d say they could challenge for the top 2. Their manager is outstanding, except for his ability to self destruct.
