because there is no option or mandatory transfer at the end of it, we are simply helping to develop a player for Brighton, its one thing to do that with Man City, who hoover up the best young talent, but Brighton? They are a midtable side and this lad can't get near their team
Spot on, and if we stay up and this player ends up a baller, he could end up being worth 30m+ rather than 15m if we have the option right now. We all know Rudkin would be stupid enough to blow our budget in such a situation.

With how much game time and captaincy Coady has had in preseason, I think he starts next to Faes, I don't think Okali is a Cooper signing so it makes sense.

I think he's saying it's either Southampton OR Italy, although I'm starting to think this is your attempt at sarcasm.

This guy looks great, but I’d rather we spend the money on an actual number fvcking ten!
(Assuming we won’t be spending too many £25m to £35millions in one go, in this window!!)
I get the feeling that we'll spend big this season to see us through the financial period with 1 or 2 improvements over the next 2 years.

Juventus being the team that has had Villas pants down with the Douglas Luiz deal so I can't seeing this being the easiest of deals.
-
Can't be true simply based on Bologna wanting to pay that much for a striker who's now in Serie B but don't want to pay less for a left back who helped them qualify for Champions League.

Firstly, I’m not over the moon about this myself.
But…
We have two very good wingers. We have three strikers - one or two may go.
We need cover out wide. We don’t need to replace our wingers with better because they are good and the money is best spent elsewhere.
We don’t have any 10’s.
Bobby can potentially play all of the above if required. So for versatility and cost it does make sense.
I would have rather we have gone a different route, but I completely see the logic in this so can’t really hate on it. We are short of players and don’t have much money.
I wouldn't bother arguing the point. I'm sure a lot of people would expect Abdul to play every game, every cup game and then play again when he's injured.
We don't have any cover for the wingers and for free makes sense. If we spent money then yes we can argue. Very good signing in my opinion for where we're at right now. Premier league experience, does work hard, good injury record and is for free.

At the risk of sounding miserable...
As far as YouTube reels go, he looks awful. Wayward passing, balls bouncing off him, his tackles look decent because he's recovering from his awful positioning that would get found out coming from the pace of Serie A.
I know, wrote him off before he's kicked a ball, blah blah blah
He looks like he's playing against Championship teams in those clips. Seems like an odd buy to me, I know we need a centerbck but if we sell Faes for a similar amount, I guess in our position I'd rather stick with what we know.

Fatawu next summer when we're relegated.
To be fair, apart from KDH, he's the only player I genuinely believe wants to stay here and would want to stay.

Who do we want coming our way as part of the deal then?
Hopefully not Broja or Casadei
I get the feeling the money side is agreed, it's just about which player/s come to us.
I'm not sure what the hold up is though because Forfana or Broja would strengthen our current squad. I'd personally take both, with Vardy for a year and Cannon to replace Vardy next year. Maybe they want a clause to leave if we go down.

25 mill plus him would be good business
Totally agree, if it means starting the season on zero points, it'll benefit us in the long run.
I mean is prefer 25mil and Gallager from Chelsea but this works!

I think people are confused that last night we were closing in in Potter, and this morning we wake up to Cooper.
I guess it feels worse because it's Forests cast offs.

What qualities are the same as Albrightons? Intrigued as I don't see that
I think he's refering to his work rate and mindset. Not the greatest player we've had but tries hard, looks happy to be there, gets on well with the team, not toxic and isn't a bellend.
I also get the feeling that when he says he wants to stay here, he genuinely means it.

I'm sure it's floating around somewhere but how much do we need to raise before June 30th? Does the Maresca money count towards this?

But he's had to compete against other elite managers with similar or bigger budgets and still won. So it's not like he's had it easy per default.
Why have a dig at McKenna? By all accounts, achieving what he has at Ipswich is extraordinary.
I have joked consistently about their luck this year, but behind that assessment is easily the hardest working team in the league with the best balance and above average quality.
It's not really fair to suggest he'll be out of his depth in the PL, especially when he'll have the lowest budget in the league and be competing with us, Leeds/Soton, Everton, Forest etc who will have spunked million upon millions on players for several years.
Luton performing the best out of the three promoted sides was not on the cards either.
At Barcelona the only team with similar resources was Real Madrid, at Bayern Munich there was no real competition during his short stint and at Man City he was given a lot more time than other managers. It's like Playing fifa, give yourself several seasons with what is pretty much unlimited money and you'll win the league.
I'm not debating he's a great manager but compared to those who have won things with less money and not having a full team of world class players is a big difference.
-
To me he'll always be remembered as a manager who was at 3 great clubs, with great players and lots of money that equalled winning many trophies.
If he wants to go down as one of the best of all time, he needs to go to a team like Tottenham that have a mixture of average, decent and great players with the budget that doesn't really allow for 70m+ players unless they sell. Show he can do it without all of the help

I'm sure this is likely sarcasm but when we went up last time, I felt we'd do enough to stay up, regardless of a points deduction or if we start on zero, this Leicester team isn't good enough.
All down the pitch, we're terrible. If Enzo stuck to his original guns and kept Kel or Daka up front, we'd be in the play offs right now.
Blackburn had something to fight for, there's an argument for that, but this was disgraceful. In the last few months we've practically secured 3 teams championship survival, couldn't beat our closet rivals in 4 games, and constantly struggle to come from behind albeit a few.
This Leicester team is in big big trouble.

He cost us €14m / £12.3m in 22/23. Over 5 years that's just under £2.5m a season. We'll have booked x 2 £2.5m leaving around £7.5m left.
The €15m option they have is worth around £12.9m at today's rate. So anything over £7.5m means we're not worse off for PSR but it would be nice to get a few profits in before thr end of June to try and limit any breach.
I'm curious if this works both ways? If we sell a player for 30m and he signs a 3 year deal, does that give us 10m extra a season for 3 years or is that an extra 30 million for that one season.
It's embarrassing that I had no idea this was all a thing, I thought it was every year don't spend more than you make.

Then the Blackburn game to clinch the title and get the trophy
Plus the last thing we want is those idiot pundits saying QPR got us promoted!

Nacho has at least had moments. I’ve not seen Daka do anything well outside of Europe. Needs to go in the summer
Agreed. A lot of the matches from earlier in the season had Nacho up front and we won most of them.

I get the feeling he thinks making a substitute is a sign of defeat, that his chosen 11 can't get the job done and he has to call on others makes him feel a failure.
At this point I'd take Wes Morgan until the end of the season!

This women commentator is bloody awful. Has she said one positive thing about Leicester today. It's performances like this that gives women a bad name when they want to be involved on men's sports.
If we score it will be a Bristol mistake no doubt.

I'll like you're comment to get you into double figures.
I think a lot of people care because we're never going to be any better of a situation if we were to just keep loaning players that we can't keep.
For example, would you not be a little frustrated if Fatawa was no option/no obligation. He'd be more than 14.5 million and we'd be stuck with Bobby Reid.
