Why the **** are our fans so bitter towards anyone who eventually moves away or shows a sign of wanting to, even to those who have been great for us.

Same nonsense was spouted about Mahrez

Madders has been great for us and we'll miss him massively,

Hopefully he goes out tonight and puts on a star performance for us.... even if it is too late

The reason I'm slightly bitter is because the logic has always been, how can anybody challenge for a European place if teams outside keep selling their best players and right now it could be argued that Newcastle have over achieved just like we had. One great season in over 10 years. We don't know if Newcastle could spend badly then crash and burn, spend the next few years hovering around mid table or win the league. So right now, Newcastle only feels like a good option because they're safe and in the champions league. Granted we're in a mess but it's not like a step up like if he joined Arsenal or Mahrez joining Man City, Kante joining Chelsea ect.

I'm happy for players to move on if they naturally leave and want to progress their career and I genuinely don't think a move to Newcastle would. That and the fact there's no way the likes of Bruno would stand for his ball greedy tendencies.

Just my opinion of course and that's even if he ends up there.

Think we need to keep some of the group.

Ricardo Souttar Faes and Justin should be a decent back line for that level and that’s without adding any new players to the squad.

I would want Faes out. It's highly likely he'd be well suited a league down but then you have to keep him if we go up and I just don't see him improving.

Would want the other 3 though starting each game.

With our impending fate and doom becoming a reality, I thought i'd bring some light-hearted fun to the heartbreak.

Who do you think will be in our starting 11 for the first game of the Championship season? We're including transfers here, get creative people. Feel free to change your formations. I've gone full Mike Bassett. Oh and pick a manager too! Feel free to also add subs!

    GK: Iversen

    LB: Kristiansen

    CB: Faes

    CB: Souttar

RB: Max Aarons (Norwich transfer in)

    LW: Piroe (Swansea transfer in)

    CM: Dewsbury Hall

    CM: Mendy (Offered new deal)

RW: Michael Antonio (crazy one - West Ham transfer in)

    ST: Gyokeres (Coventry transfer in)

    ST: Daka

Manager: Nigel 'Are you an Ostrich' Pearson

Was toying with the idea of Drinkwater on a pay as you play.

Love this post. Was literally just asking myself this question.

    I'd go to a 4-4-2.

    GK: Iverson

    Left back: Justin

Centre back: Evans. (Given a contract extension)

    Centre back: Faes

    Right back: Ricardo

    Left Winger: Barnes

    Centre mid: Soumare

Centre mid: McAtee (Loan from Man City)

Right winger: Diallo (Loan from Man Utd, can play right wing, attacking mid and up front.)

    Striker: Kel

Striker: Brereton. (Permanent deal and more likely to come up with us, assuming a top side doesn't poach him.

Vardy - Finishes his career with his boyhood club and scores against us.

Daka - Loan and will see if he come up, would rather he stay.

Castange - Sold to stand a chance for playing in the euros.

    Kristenson/Thomas/Souttar - Benched.

Praet - Sold for a stupidly low price.

Ndidi - Unsure about this one, feel he could stay.

    Maddison - Sold for 30/35m.

Vestergaard - Sold late and everybody says they're sorry it didn't work out.

Feel we'd trim the squad massively and make use of the loan market.

I voted yes. We have winnable games. The Leeds and Everton games were so nervy i am not surprised we didn't get a win.

Fulham away - They are mid table and injuries/suspensions have halted their season. We can win their

Liverpool Home - Not expecting anything but lets not forget Liverpool have been poor at the back this season. I can see us causing trouble for them.

Newcastle Away - I am hoping they will have Top 4 sewn up, which surely they will have. We may play them when they are in celebratory mode

West Ham Home - Very much a winnable game.

I fancy us to get some points out the last 4 games. Here's hoping

I genuinely think we'll beat Liverpool. Watching them against Bournemouth gave me hope that if that side turn up it's doable. I suspect Newcastle may play a slightly weakened side but will likely smash us, Fulham without Willian and Mitrovic are there for the taking, and as you say West Ham is winnable.

This 'on the beach' stuff might be overplayed a bit. In the title year WBA drew with Spurs towards the end of the season in a hard fought game that helped us a lot. I might be wrong, but were WBA safe when they played Spurs? Sometimes a relaxed team can play good football and enjoy it.

Totally agree, I think people also forget that we manage to make teams look better than they really are and I wouldn't take today's game as Everton getting 6 points from their last 2 games.

If that was the case we'll get 3 from on the beach Fulham who are safe, 3 from on the beach Liverpool settling for Europa league, 3 from on the beach Newcastle who'll have champions league and 3 from on the beach West ham who are safe just on the basis of us playing well today.

I'm wandering but my point is I agree, just because a team can relax doesn't mean they're gonna come out and take it easy.

I think sadly it will be us leeds and soton. I think we will get 4 points but everton and forest will get 6. Unless smith can work out how to protect the defence more.

Everton aren't getting 6 points. No way they beat Brighton or Man City. A now inform Bournemouth and Wolves away could bring maybe 2 points.

  7. It's actually heartbraking that we could have played Evans and Soyunchu against Bournemouth.

I just don't understand if thousands of people can see Kel is our best striker, Mendy has earned a contract extension, Soyunchu is our best centre back and Tete is our only natural right winger, why do 3 people see the complete opposite.

The season isn't over yet and I think if we keep Amarty, Vardy and Soumare away from the first team we may just scrape it.

They'll rest Haaland due to the Bayern games but they'll still rack up another 4. This is the most nailed on result of the season. They should be about 1/20 to win.

Get your money on early before odds go down! Got over 7 goals at 20/1, possibly the easiest 200 I'll ever make.

  9. I'm happy to give him a chance until the end of the season. Looking at our fixture list compared to Forest it's not a massively difficult job until the end of the season. Plus he strikes me as one of those who will bollock the players so this helps also. No more holiday camp or taking it easy and hopefully no more silly injuries.

    I actually think he will.

I read that post that he had 3 games to get 4 points otherwise he's done. He was one of the people who said Iverson was in line to start and we only got 1 point so we shall see if he's got another right.

I've just put £100 @ 6/1on us to be relegated, l can't see where the next goal is coming from let alone the next point. Obviously l want us to win every game and will gladly lose the money if we can somehow stay up. If not £700 might soften the blow slightly.

I did the same last week and got 15/2 so figured it was worth £40. Either way it's win win. These betting companies are brave to give these sorts of odds.

  12. Bit harsh on Thomas. Really enjoyed watching him during our Europa league run.

I think he just needs a run at a top championship side.

We should have sold Soumare when Monaco came sniffing and this obsession of playing Amarty has got to stop now. It's just not funny anymore. Play Souttar and Faes.

Saka, Weghurst and Salah rarely get rotated so why piss about when a lot of the stronger teams have already been eliminated.

Don't get me wrong, I do respect him for it, love him even!

But I was told that phrase a long time ago at work and it's true, try a hard as you can but if you're end product isn't what is expected of you then sorry you're out.

I'm sure everyone loves nige, Morgan, Fuchs, Kasper ect ect but you have to recognise when to draw a line under it and call it a day. Because it gets to a point where that respect get outweighed by bad performances. Allntou have to do is look on here at some of the comments against vardy this season, there's not a single person who doesn't love him but there's only so much you can take before it sours

I totally agree with this, I think with Vardy there are better options on the pitch, with Albrighton it's debatable when you play a midfielder there I.e. Maddison and you end up with Soumare in midfield or somebody who doesn't want to be there, I.e. Perez. With Albrighton he wants to play, and let's be honest, the ball control for the goal against Brighton was pretty impressive.

Plus it's a little sad to know that apart from Vardy, there is nobody left from the title winning team.

A lot of you have to stop living in the past. He's a great guy and a model pro but you don't get prizes for trying, he's not the player he once was.

Thanks Marc, but we go on

I think there may be a good few thousand plus who respect him for 'trying'.
