It certainly feels nice to have some positive things to her about after 45 minutes of our first pre season game. Pre seasons of the past have been absolute doom and gloom.

Awful from Courtois

Ben Green has been awful.

Shocking. It’s like watching England brain dead batting.

Brilliant atmosphere to be fair. India’s biggest ever t20 defeat? Gutted the kid didn’t get more of a score but it was nice to see him hit a couple of sixes.

It’s a lovely result to wake up to.

It’s Spain. What do you expect.

This has been such a bore fest. No surprise with Spain involved.

Some people just can’t give England credit. It’s more to do with the context of the game. Most people that know the game are fully aware that on paper, the Mexicans are an average international side.

Brazils midfield not only against Norway but against Japan was absolutely non existent.

Yet a lot of people before the game had already written us off, saying the altitude and atmosphere will get to us and we won’t be able to live with them the first 20 minutes. But I certainly agree that looking at the Mexico side, you can’t argue it’s nothing more than average. The game plan was executed to perfection and the defending after their penalty was class. A performance to be really proud of. Grit, determination, heart and fight. That game was about as tough as it could’ve been, with all things considered.

It’s very similar to the one we were given in the Euro semi’s against Netherlands. Think the ref was trying too hard to be in control. The foul from Saka which lead to their first goal wasn’t a foul for me.

I thought the exact same thing. The same with this amazing record at the Azteca. Half the teams they’d played there are absolute pony. Don’t get me wrong, they aren’t a bad side but it’s a side you’d expect England to beat 9/10 regardless of venue.

It was nervy for most of the game. Looking back on the game I really cannot see what the fuss was all about regarding them during the build up to it all. Their two goals were both from set pieces and although Pickford had to make some good saves, it was from the same type of chance.

Great game for the neutral. Not so much a nervy England fan. But get in. What. A. Performance. Questions make over the defence but that’s as good as a defensive performance you’ll see with 10 men. Both their goals came from set pieces. The confidence they’ll get from this is massive. Look at the togetherness. Come on.

It’s never a foul by Saka especially with some of the stuff the ref has been letting go.
