Will never forget the “Pierpoint out” protests outside the Carling stand after Liverpool at home. I was a keen autograph hunter back then and the away team bus used to be parked outside the main entrance after the game. The sheer volume of fans meant the Liverpool team had to leave via the East Stand as the protests continued. Didn’t know why or even understood what the protest was about. But I still joined in anyway.
