  1. Absolutely, there's no way that wasn't a yellow card challenge. Add that to the offside call on the goal, and suffice to say you've been shafted a bit by reffing decisions.
  2. I am glad we've all learnt from other media and fanbases doing it to us, that deciding we know better about another team than their fans do is pretty patronising.
  3. If that's genuinely the case then I think it shows a real lack of foresight and idiotic prioritisation on behalf of the club. If I were Knight and that had happened, I'd consider leaving 100%
  4. Honestly I just don't believe the reason Soyuncu doesn't play is because of his lack of English.
  5. Honestly if Soyuncu for whatever reason doesn't come good before January, I think recalling him would be a good shout. Defensive instability is probably our biggest downfall right now.
  6. I think there's a big problem in your calling Pearson someone who is often successful. Where exactly has he excelled that wasn't Leicester? He was by all accounts poor for Derby, seems awful for Leuven, I'm not sure about his stint at Hull, but I believe it was decent but not spectacular? Pearson worked wonders for us and was hugely successful - but that was with one single club, I don't think you can call him often successful based on his overall managerial career thusfar. No offence to Leuven, but there's a reason that he doesn't have a job in the Championship. One thing I don't quite understand is why you seem to think there HAS to be some other mitigating circumstance to explain why Pearson isn't doing well, whether that be fans complaining, backroom instability, or whatever else. I agree that these things can't exactly help, but there's no smoke without fire, and I think that there's a distinct blind defence of Pearson going on here that gets in the way of what are in my opinion pretty objectively terrible results and performances (though I also don't watch Leuven) You're not wrong in some regards, the seat does seem to be a bit of a poisoned chalice if that is the current longevity of the most recent managers, but if you remember before Pearson took over in his second stint, we had a great turnover of managers as well. I remember Sousa being touted as some brilliant manager, and being excited for him to take charge, and then 9 or so games later, us being bottom of the league and Sousa being sacked. Maybe he would have come good if he'd have been given more time too, but that's the way football works - the results and performances weren't up to scratch, and so he was out. I'm sure fans of Swansea would have told us things about how good he was, as I think he got them playing pretty decent football (though my memory may of course be wrong!) but that meant nothing because he couldn't translate it to playing well and getting results with us. I don't want to devalue your opinion, I just think you're not thinking about the situation at all from a perspective of someone who supports Leuven, which you don't have to be a fan of them to do.
  7. I have always wondered with players like Kane and Lingard for example who don't impress and then suddenly perform brilliantly when given the confidence to start whether there's actually a thinner line between whether a young player is good enough or not.
  8. We looked like we were in the ascendancy when Morgan got sent off and could have won this game - this is just conducive of you having already decided Puel is awful and then letting confirmation bias colour everything else
  9. Maddison off AGAIN?
  10. This was such a bloody winnable game
  11. What's the role of Captain and football player during the match if not to not rush into challenges on a booking?
  12. I feel like it's super reactionary to blame Puel for Morgan being sent off. Sure he could have subbed Morgan off but managers don't tend to mess with CB partnerships mid-game, and you'd hope that Morgan would have the sense not to rush into anything stupid on a booking.
  13. ****s sake...
  14. I think the rule is that if any part of your body that it's legal to play the ball with is offside, you're off.
  15. I wish we could start games better than we play as they go on!
  16. He's just never really impressed whenever he's played. He's rightly not in the squad, Iborra looks better than him imo
  17. I'd say Vardy's chance was actually better in terms of goal likelihood, Ricardo's was great but a moment of individual skill rather than a conventional chance.
  18. 8 shit games there!!! Get in!
  19. We really need to come out after half-time with a different gameplan though - more of the same isn't going to work.
  20. It's complete revisionism to say he's had 8 bad games. First few games this season he was great, got quite a few assists, but he's tailed off in the past few weeks in terms of both defensive and offensive contribution.
  21. This x100 The amount of posts earlier in the thread which were obviously well-intentioned but actively telling a fan of another club what they should and shouldn't think was a bit much imo
  22. Just because it happened once in completely different circumstances doesn't mean that Pearson is guaranteed to succeed given enough time. I genuinely just don't think Pearson for whatever reason works with Leuven and much as I love him for what he did for us, past glories shouldn't dictate current successes. To me it's sort of similar to Mourinho's Man U - just because he's shown the propensity to excel at previous clubs, doesn't mean that he should be impervious to playing shite football and getting even shiter results.
  23. What IS a capable and balanced squad of 23 English players that have at least a season of playing well very recently in the Premier League and that would involve players that would be useful for the future going forward? I just don't think that's tenable whatsoever, so as much as the soundbite of the players being picked as having not performed enough yet, I don't think it's a completely valid criticism.
