Exactly, we're a small county and it's impossible for the club to move forward. I wasn't suggesting that the club should cease immediately, but I bet plenty of board members have gave it a brief flitting thought and why wouldn't they, money has become the game and surely the LCCC books are pretty bleak financially. All this behind the scenes stuff makes you wonder whether anyone is enjoying themselves at the club. No matter what you think of Davidson and his brutal honesty, he speaks sense, no home wins in the twenty20 is a complete disaster. Unfortunately, twenty20 in the county game is 90% of the season because of the money it brings. As for foundations, they won't last, if the young players are good enough they'll be moved on to the bigger counties. The whole county game in England and Wales is on the slippery slope and it's clubs like LCCC that suffer the most, the national game is practically everything now.
You cannot deny the club is deep trouble, and ever since winning the twenty20 with our golden group (Maddy, Hodge et al.), the club has been struggling to tread water in the deepest of oceans.
