You're half right mate 😊 It's a secondary radar in the aircraft itself, and yeah, both would be active. What is puzzling is that no IDENT was mentioned if it was appearing on TCAS, maybe that'll come out further down the line. The speed exhibited by the object is also puzzling, nothing 'known' demonstrates that speed between those two points - this could be a mistake from one observer, but from several, it does seem more implausible. It would be interesting to know if the flight record was offloaded and if the pilot passed that to ATC along with the video. Lastly, if it was military, why would they even have their transponder on? Once mil aircraft take off they pretty much go dark, there may be one that emits for a group whilst moving out of high traffic corridors, you can see for yourself on ADSB that once an aircraft goes up, it'll go dark within a few minutes. Especially if it's an active sortie..similar to the launches over the UK last week.

"Drones" is the chaff being thrown into these happenings. Sure some are drones a d some are aircraft, but there are plenty not in those categories. Some civilian pilot reports over Texas and Oregon in the last few days. The US would not be testing their own secret sh1t over their own sensitive military installations. The UK has a relative black out on the observations going on over Lakenheath, Mildenhall, Feltwell and Fairford. US nukes allegedly delivered to Lakenheath and Fairford. B52s currently deployed to Fairford. The size of some of these 'drones' is not consistent with even cutting edge tech in this area as is the flying patterns employed. Needs to be understood that it's not only US airbases either. Reports also exist over China, Russia and other locations. But let's not scare the horses...

Watched the one from yesterday earlier today... The stuff overhead on the radio was interesting as was the context after. Just watching the latest stream from tonight after missing it being live. I'd really like them to be Russian drones, but there are just some oddities to these. Also, a lovely coincidence that they're all occurring around facilities that have nuclear weapons or power sources.
