And Trump kept referencing how it was only his second day on the job "tough start!" like anyone gives a shit about that
  2. The romantic in me would like to see Rowntree back but I know it doesn't work like that these days. Wish we still had the old Liverpool bootroom philosophy in sport.
  3. That's exactly the same itinerary we did for our honeymoon 25 years ago! (although Sydney was only a stop over flight change ) Have a great time, richly deserved by the sound of it.
  4. I think those hardships made us stronger, more resilient, more responsible, less entitled. Simpler in terms of fewer inputs, less noise, less distraction, fewer options. Maybe ignorance was bliss...
  5. Wonderful place. We went October 23 and absolutely loved it. Start saving now though, everything is three times as expensive as it is here!
  6. I like this thread. A reminder of simpler times and a nice distraction from all the shit that’s currently going on in the world.
  7. Another word that you don't really hear anymore
  8. Sounds identical my my Grans!
  9. How about a 'larder'? My gran had a larder but you never hear of them these days
  10. I knew it
  11. Probably @bovril Our very own Michael Palin
  12. My only away game there this season and I was looking over at what they've done to that entire end thinking it looked the dogs bollux. Hoping that we'd do exactly the same but clearly not. Massive opportunity missed.
  13. FFS. The whole process is just depressing.
  14. Netflix refuse to renew 6N series Full contact. Jim Hamilton losing his rag...
  15. Well blow me down. My old man is a massive Shadows fan.
  16. That theme tune
  17. This was posted from the Foxes Trust on Nov 14 last year so I'm guessing they're going with Option 3? (when most people seemed to want option 1 or 2 as a minimum) February 2025 Decision on the installation of independent barriers and the timing. Fans Advisory Board updated. We have been collaborating with Union FS in their campaign for the introduction of Safe Standing at the King Power Stadium, regarding proposals to the club on different options as to where safe standing should be located in Home areas. Those options are: Option 1 – Safe standing across the whole of the Spion Kop, SK1 to SK4 inclusive, a capacity of 7200. Option 2 – Safe standing across the whole of the upper part of the Spion Kop with rails fitted in front of all seats from the vomitories upwards. This will enable fans below that level to remain in a fully seated area. The area above will provide safe standing for around 4000 home supporters. Option 3 – SK1 and G1 corner. This will cover three blocks and provide safe standing for approximately 2500 home supporters. Option 4 – An enlarged area in the SK1/G1/G2 corner covering five blocks and accommodating around 3000-3500 home supporters.
  18. The wife decides she wants us to get some sun Feb half term so I tell her just to book something. I say somewhere quiet and to discuss it with the kids and then let me know where we're going. So Aya Napa here we come I said to my teenage lad "You do realise it'll be full of The only way is Essex, trout pout, fake tan, cocaine sniffing, Aldi middle isle, peppa pig plate used as an ashtray, sofa in the front garden, universal credit, chavs?" He replied "Shut up you Tory"
  19. I think I’ve done it! Got power to the new radiator and it’s heating up nice so think it’s sorted and I didn't blow the house up in the process. Lessons learnt: 1. I’m a bit of a pussy 2. Sorry for being a drama queen about this 3. I think it’s all about having the confidence to try (and using common sense) Thanks again for all your help everyone. Feeling quite happy with myself tbh
  20. I appreciate this probably looks like a piece of piss to you but it looks like a minefield to me!
  21. I'm still mentally preparing myself. Just spoke to my old man on FaceTime and showed him the job. There's lots of different coloured wires to deal with. Feels like I'm about to diffuse a bomb
  22. That's for the kind offer mate, you're a legend. I'm about 25 mins SE of Milton Keynes. I've decided to give it a go myself tomorrow We've just put our house back on the market and if we get any viewings this week the main room will be freezing so I need to get it done ASAP. If I fvck it up or it doesn't work then I'll let you and take you up on your offer - and pay you for your time. And if I electrocute myself and die in the process, it's been nice knowing you all
  23. Thankyou. There’s these two switches on the wall by the side of the radiator so assume I just switch them off and also isolate the heaters on the main circuit board before swapping over? P.S. It's a 1700w radiator and there's a 13amp fuse in the right switch so assume I just leave that as is?
  24. I miss @Strokes, he doesn't seem as prolific on here as he used to be. I'm guessing you'd DIY in my scenario mate?
