  1. I'm guessing this will mean he goes out on loan, which IMO is a good thing. Let him smash the Championship and be ready for the Premier League or worst case scenario, to lead us back up again. He could have a role with us this season, but I think playing every week and becoming a talisman like KDH at Luton or Barnes at WBA is better for him right now. He looks super promising, but still don't really know how his career will go yet. But of course I wish him the best of luck, seems like a nice guy. Of the recent breakthrough players, Ben Nelson so far to me looks like the one most likely to be a proper Premier League player, and hopefully for us.
  2. Hmm, you might be right. That might mean neither of the loan signings would count? **** it, lets just loan a whole new starting XI! (Don't give Rudkin ideas)
  3. WILFRED ZAHA BABY! WILFRED ZAHA OHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
  4. This is really complicated: Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time. The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time. Premier League clubs cannot loan to another Premier League club a player they have acquired in the same transfer window. A Premier League club may loan not more than one of its goalkeepers to another Premier League club. These rules were introduced by the Premier League ahead of the 2019/20 season. They have continued to change in recent years, with FIFA announcing in January 2022 that by July 2024, the number of players allowed to be loaned out and loaned in will be reduced from eight to six. During the 2023/24 season, clubs were allowed seven loan players in and seven loaned out. It is worth noting that these restrictions don't apply to players under the age of 21 or "homegrown" talents, who are defined as players who have spent time at their current club or another in the same country for at least three years between the ages of 15 and 21. That last bit is quite important as it might mean that Buananotte doesn't count towards the limit. But I don't know how long he's been in England for.
  5. Rudkin right now:
  6. Never, EVER piss off @moore_94! This guy will hack your emails, interogate your family and find ALL the dirt on you, and make your life a misery. Do you remember that stupid thing you did as a teenager that one time? Well moore_94 knows, has the evidence, and he will be using it in the court of law against you. You have been warned.
  7. So if we pay his wages that's around 9M a year. No doubt that is expensive for a single season, but if that 9M keeps you up it's well worth the spend. I am so excited if this happens! Given the situation the club has been in, who could we realistically get that would significantly boost our chances of survival? Maybe, MAYBE Tammy Abraham if he was fully fit? Zaha at Leicester makes me go from "no chance of staying up" to "hold on... this might be on!"
  8. He could live in Lodnon (or just outside) and commute. Schmeichel commuted from Manchester during his time at Leicester. And in terms of morale, I actually think the players would be excited. Everyone knows who Zaha is, and if him joining doesn't make you think you've got a chance, well we never had any chance to begin with. Game changer of a signing for me.
  9. He's inconsistent, he's not in his prime. But Wilf Zaha has magic in those laces. Just like Mahrez, in some games he will do nothing, lose the ball over and over and dribble down blind alleys. And just like Mahrez there will be games where he alone wins you the game. Front 4 of Mavididi, Zaha and Fatawu with Vardy in front of them, and Winks and Ndidi behind? I think that team can stay up!
  10. Kingfox confirmed as T1.
  11. That’s actually the reason I could see us get him. A loan fee plus wages for the season instead of a permanent. Palace probably won’t give him his old contract / wages back.
  12. Zaha would be incredible, maybe the type of signing that keeps you up even. All the other players we are linked to are those with potential. Zaha is proven in this league. If he's avaialble on loan for a season I'd take him all day, every day!
  13. Yes I'd agree. His assists might not look that great, but he's more of the pre-assist guy in the same way Tielemans was for us. He's not such a box-crasher in the way KDH was, but he's probably better technically.
  14. Yeah I'd describe him as an all-rounder. Not a CAM even though he kind of plays box-to-box but IMO is not a Premier League box-to-box style player because he has a more languid style of play. But he's pretty creative, can finish, good on the ball and can pass. He's not that dissimilar to Matt O'Riley actually, who is not the fastest, but still very good. Definitely better than what we have in terms of chance creation, no doubt about it. Didn't quite work out at Milan, but for a team just coming up from the Championship, he's a quality addition.
  15. Wolves have now lost Kilman and Neto. Would be suprised if they go down, but this closes the gap between them and us, especially if we bring in a few more signings. To stay up, we need to hope some of Forest, Wolves, Brentford, Fulham (?), Everton slip up.
  16. He was injured last season, but as a loan signing, he could be a good pickup. Offers something a bit different.
  17. It's low-risk though. Controversially, I think that going forwards we should be using way more loans. Business is a risk. Look at the signings of Soumare and Daka. These were big investments that did not work out. If those players were loaned instead, things would be much more secure. His spell might have ended badly, but Tielemans was a good example. Joined on loan and impressed. Then joint for good and won us a huge trophy. The way it ended left a sour taste, but I think it would be more prudent as a club to be more risk-averse in our signings.
  18. Yep I think most of the forum shares those concerns. Hard to believe that the second best CAM in the Championship, who was left footed and the same age as KDH in Gabriel Sara was not signed for a reasonable 20M euro by Galatasaray. The club said they were working on Buonanotte for several weeks, so I can only hope they are going to bag someone for the CAM position. Chelsea still have a squad of about 100 players so could see one of their many midfielders ending up here. Hopefully it's someone a bit better than Casadei!
  19. Wonder if we will see him in action tomorrow? This video is well worth a watch. If you look at the positions he takes up in this video, as well as his skills, I think he'd be a great attacking 8 in the Enzo style system. He's also left footed! Now so far we haven't played that way, we've used two 10's and an attacking fullback instead. But maybe it will change back over? I think I am just projecting my own preferences, but it's still possible! If we do keep to the two 10's, I think this guy has the skillset to make things happen, though he needs to up his end product for sure.
  20. Yeah we've been linked it feels like with nothing but 10's, with Buonanotte and Reid capable of playing there. O'Riley is the only proper CAM we've been linked to and I don't see that going through. I really hope he realises our wingers are exactly that and are better out wide to stretch the game than drifting inside. We haven't been linked with any of those type of players yet, though you could well be right. He tried Fatawu in that position against Shrewsbury, and it didn't work too well. If he used the right hand side instead, you could use either of JJ / Ricardo and then the back 3 can have Okoli, Vestergaard and Faes. For me I'd rather see Ricardo next to Winks as between them they can play our of trouble and through the press. All the teams press in the Premier League and we could use opposition pressing to our advantage. The Spurs game will be a big test for Ndidi... will he get caught on the ball or will Winks next to him give him the time to bomb on and offer some help to Harry at the same time? We will only know when the game takes place. Personally I expect that the tactics we start out with won't be the ones that we use afer a few months. But what our tactics will be is anyone's guess, because we might end up getting joy purely from sitting in deep, having 25% possession and scoring on the break. And at the end of the day if we got 50 points from that, then even with a deduction, it would keep us up.
  21. If we are selling both that feels to me like we are going to keep the same system as last season. Which IMO, is the correct way to go. Mavididi and Fatawu on the wings instead of a high left back with not much attacking output. If he really wants to go that way, then we should be using Ricardo on the attack as he provides way more going forwards.
  22. This guy played for Shakthar Dontesk where he was considered the weaker of the two exciting wingers they had. The name of the other... Tete
  23. Thanks for the response @brucey!
  24. I hope he does! If you want to connect with fans, why not spend 20 minutes each morning taking a look at what the fans think, or at the least get someone to do it for you. Getting the fans onside is a huge part of the job. I don't think any Leicester fans even except the team to win trophies, just represent the fans and area and try to be competitive. His words sound great, and a big strength that has been associated with Cooper is that he does try to connect with the local fanbase, which is why the Forest fans got behind him for so long. Who was the last one that really did that for us? Ranieri maybe? I'd probably say it was Pearson, despite the former's success. Strong home form is what we will need to survive you would think. Sums up our dinosaur fanbase to a tee, who seemingly don't understand that there's a lot more to football than mindlessly pumping the ball into the box at every opportunity. I'll leave this here, even though it's totally lost on many of our fans.
