I’ve always defended players earning what they do...after all it’s a free market and most of it comes from TV deals rather than ticket sales. However this whole money grab for £35 from members and £70 from season ticket holders at a time many are likely to either lose their job, or at least have the threat of it hanging over them, has made me question the ethics of modern football in a way I’ve not done before. Probably not helped by seeing most of the premier league playing squad living it up in the sun sipping champagne when the majority have had holidays cancelled etc.
The whole situation just doesn’t feel right and I hope the club look at it again. If we do genuinely need the cash that badly then come out and tell us and maybe ask the playing squad to help out too.

So let me get this straight. As a member I paid a £40 fee last summer for access to tickets, but received no refund despite not actually having access to tickets for a good number of games. You can forgive that though just about given the circumstances.
Now they want us to pay another £35 for access to significantly reduced tickets while also charging everyone £1.50 in admin fees. Season ticket holders are in the same boat.
Personally I feel the ballot scheme is quite fair in the sense that whatever tickets can be made available should be made available to STH’s and members only (90% / 10% respectively). Where they’re taking the biscuit is by demanding the £70 / £35 fee for access to extremely limited tickets, charging admin fees on ticket purchases, and expecting STH’s to pay full match day ticket prices. Club could quite easily have made the fee a nominal £10 so they have an idea of who still wants to maintain their season ticket / membership for the 20/21 season, with the aim of being back to normal for 21/22. The £1.50 admin charge on ticket purchases made by anyone other than general public tier is criminal.
All I can say is that if any other business treated me like this I’d have taken my business elsewhere in disgust. Unfortunately we can’t do that and football club directors know it. I had come to expect better from our owners though.

Can anyone remember back in the champions league days who were allowed to buy tickets. Back then I was priority one so had no problem going to all of the games but I don't even have a membership anymore and only made it to one game last season (an away one). Were people with booking history allowed to buy tickets or was it just members and season ticket holders?
I seem to remember most home games got to general sale (albeit briefly) although the group stage tickets were sold as a bundle. Away games got to general sale for the less glamorous...Copenhagen and Porto I think.

I got my Crystal Palace match ticket refund on Friday...to be fair to the club they gave a date by which they promised a refund and met it. They’ve been a lot better with refund communication than other businesses I’ve dealt with the last few months.

What are people’s thoughts on offsetting the disappointment of your team losing, by betting against them?
I’ve only ever done it once - v Sevilla (first leg).
It has to be remembered in the context that we were awful at the time, and I had a ticket for the home leg. So I backed us at quite high odds to be beat by 2 goals or more. I think I put about a tenner on at about 5/1.
My thought process was that in the best case scenario we get a result or a narrow defeat and there’s everything to play for in the second leg. Worst case scenario we get thumped and at least the return legs ticket was effectively free.
Best tenner I’ve ever lost.

Really fancy a good game today, could be quite a few goals as both sides genuinely need to win it. Bournemouth are basically at the stage of ‘nothing to lose’ so will probably roll the dice.

We're 4/1 to not finish in the top 4. That's either an incredible bet given our disastrous form, or, given that bookies win more than they lose, it's a positive sign.

I can’t make it down to Leicester for this and so I have 2 memberships that I can buy tickets with. If anyone on here buying in general sale wants me to buy them a couple of tickets with the ST holder / members discount send me a direct message.

So so pleased for him. The way the lads on the pitch rally behind him says to me he’s a good lad - so pleased he’s managed to come on and give such a great performance. Well done Kelechi!

May as well hand the trophy to Liverpool now. VAR has been their godsend this season.

This is absolutely brilliant. What a week of fun watching spurs capitulate

Skybet have a boost for tonight.
Leicester
Arsenal
Southampton
all to win at 9/2 from 5/2 which I think is good value!

I thought the new handball rule was only if it resulted in a direct goal or an assist. Perez would have had neither from where he handled the ball would he?
If you’re right then I take it back. But I thought that if there was a foul within the direct build up to a goal it would be disallowed. Maybe this is something that will be ironed out in the coming weeks and months as we get used to it. I have reservations though.

There was potentially a massive talking point today for me. When Perez clearly handled the ball to bring it under control, if we had gone on and scored I have no doubt that it would have been disallowed.
But.....
We got a corner from the resulting attack. If we had scored from the corner the goal would have stood.
This for me was exactly the sort of issue I was worried about with VAR. Myself and others around me found ourselves in a bizarre situation of not wanting the attack to result in a goal, because we knew it would be disallowed. So when it goes out for a corner everyone is thinking ‘better than scoring’. Just an odd situation to be in.

Wow. Some of the distain shown towards other fans who happen to enjoy football in a different way to themselves is worrying.
I don’t really care how s**t you think our away end is - if being a ‘hardcore fan’ that sings from start to finish means also moaning that many of our fans are ‘too old’ or ‘go with their bird’, then you can count me out.
Seriously, this isn’t the 80’s. If the only way to create an atmosphere is by banning families, or ‘loved up couples’, or checking ages to ensure only young men attend away games, then I’d rather everyone sat in silence frankly.
Edit: Just to say, I’m all for efforts to improve atmosphere, but let’s do so through inclusive means rather than just blaming our fellow supporters based on their characteristics.

Back on topic though:
My last pint was actually in Arcade in Huddersfield after the match...I enjoyed a Northern Monk hazy IPA.

I actually think having a limited version of Reds will do their reputation more harm than good in the long term. Their stand alone restaurants are great but aren’t they only doing burgers and 3 other mains?
I don't know to be fair, I've not been in since the renovation. Brewdog bars generally do only offer either pizzas or burgers though, which seems to serve them well in the rest of their bars. Will be interesting to see how it works out.

They have been doing this for years, I’ve got a mate who must have done it about 6/7 years ago so presume he’s made a bit of money. Not sure how likely it is now, feels like Brewdog have stood still a little bit of smaller independent pubs are having more success but maybe that’s just a reflection of Leicester.
If he invested 6 or 7 years ago he will have done very well! You are right, the opportunity to make significant money is probably gone (but that's open to opinions), but I thought it was worth sharing as for £25 I think you can easily get good value for that if you use Brewdog.
Edit: Just to add as well re Brewdog performance: they still account for less than 1% of the beer market, and revenue turnover in the last financials was +55% - so not to be sniffed at. I do think the Brewdog in Leicester has been struggling though (largely because of location from what I gather), which is why they've recently introduced Red's into the upstairs space.

For those interested in craft beer and specifically Brewdog, you might like to know that Brewdog are crowdfunding in exchange for equity that comes with benefits. For a £25 'investment' you will receive the following:
--1 share in Brewdog Plc
--A free beer on your birthday for life
--5% discount in Brewdog bars
--10% discount online
--A free copy of 'Craft Beer for the People' book
If any of you are new investors to Brewdog and fancy giving it a go, it would be massively appreciated if you use my referral link below

Put Norwich in an acca tonight and I can’t believe how bad they’ve been. To say they’re the championship leaders is worrying for the standard of the reat.

Malta is my favourite place in the world ? I've been many times in November and it's still very warm, so September and October will be lovely. We went at the beginning of November this year and it was still high twenties during the day, bikini and sunbathing weather, and still short sleeves in the evening.
Whereabouts are you planning on staying? Are you planning to hire a car? If you want any recommendations of places to see or things to do give me a shout ?
That sounds reassuring! We don't expect or need 30+ heat but mid twenties would be ideal and it sounds like we would probably be ok then for that sort of temperature.
As for where in Malta, we've not decided just yet. In my opinion Mellieha looks lovely, albeit quiet, but Malta seems small enough to be able to explore easy enough anyway. We're not a fan of massively built up tourist hot spots, and in terms of nightlife we don't need clubs etc but equally we want enough restaurants/bars to have a nice meal and a few drinks on an evening. Any recommendations would be gratefully received!

Due to work commitments we struggle to get away during July-September, but are close to booking Malta for next year (travelling very end of September/first week of October), has anyone been to Malta early Autumn? Just wondering how people found the weather? Is it still warm enough?

Season Tickets
in Leicester City Forum

Agreed. But ticketing again is what let’s the club down. I’d argue though that this is the first time many season ticket holders are experiencing first hand the ticketing rip-off that members have to tolerate every year.
If there can be any positive from this it’s that I hope the ticketing shambles at our club is highlighted more widely. Edit: but I won’t hold my breath
