Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

Pretty much They basically have a free hit at getting it reduced, and why wouldn't you take that? -
Think it's also important to consider the fact many don't fully understand their mortgage and just see it as a number they pay off.

Yes but football exists outside of the top 6 sides in the country. They're gigantic, global clubs. We're a big club compared to most of the 92 in the EFL, and even to many in the Prem -
Misuse of ST is a great laugh.

I imagine Villa will be very close this year. I expect Newcastle are struggling too. As we've seen, the system doesn't allow smaller clubs to progress at any rate. And by the time any off the pitch infrastructure is at a level to allow them to compete, their opportunity is likely gone. -

The next thing is club owned networks between leagues. The City group, Chelsea, Man Utd etc all utilising ownership models should be one of the next things to be focused upon. -
I do keep forgetting about that. You'd imagine unless he himself wants out, he'd stay?

It's a fundamental issue across the board. We're a relatively big club, so we likely abuse the system for those below us, we're in the wrong just as those above us. -
His agent wouldn't be doing his job if he wasn't seeing what opportunities were out there

The system is set up so teams "don't overspend their means", but then breaking out of your so called "means" is a huge task due to how the system is set. Yes it has kept the big teams in check within a certain level. For any team to progress, they have to sell their best assets and hope they can replace to a better level. Youth system issues with poaching is just another segment of the rulings that suits the bigger sides. -
How are you surprised? Haven't you seen the amount of bans people got from tweets or posts? That's before you look at the other reasons people are getting banned

A really interesting read actually, the last 3 of the thread in particular to us. The thread summarises really well how poor PSR is, it doesn't punish those who already have big revenue streams. But in order to kick on you're required to spend more in the short term, and try to build that revenue up quickly. Any faltering and you're basically ****ed. -

Very unsure; if we don't go up having blown a 10/15 point lead then he won't exactly have many banging at the door

Half had my mind on board members getting bonuses when I initially posted; but in hindsight I wonder if many of the big wage signings actually had bug relegation clauses at all. -

Given I don't imagine they took huge cuts following our relegation, don't believe any of them are entitled to a bonus -

The club is a tad OTT on his memory, but it's just a listing as the previous chairman with the dates he was alive next to it. -

The disjointed planning of these rules is laughable. How have the Prem and EFL not got this sort of situation covered with legislation and rulings in place? The Prem acting on its own with rulings relating to finances and not incorporating EFL in is beyond me. Understand they'd need separate amounts of losses etc, but no reason all of this couldn't be tied up in 1 document -
One of them where everything is getting more expensive, wages aren't increasing by anywhere near the same level. Then they wonder why people cut things like takeaways out, and we get the old "use it or lose it" crap

Yes, was introduced in 2013, so we'd have 0 involvement in anything related to them -

Another shite article. Adds no new information or insight, just takes shots at clubs arguing the breach of PSR in court and how it's damaging the "consensus of the game". To which I'd understand, were the rules and the punishments clear and transparent; rather than the current merky waters of punishments and regulations. Given ours is additionally complex, given no league can absolutely say who is able to punish us, and that's all we're arguing, is the correct league charge us. However, he does make a suggestion as to why we're throwing lawyers around: "There was an outside chance that if Leicester’s case was completed this season the Premier League could come to an agreement with the EFL that a points deduction would be applied this season, in the Championship. Delays in the case work against that outcome and any possibility that Leicester’s promotion quest might be put at risk." Goes on to state that FFP helped us win the title, which seems an aimless dig given the amounts the big 6 were spending at that time. "Leicester won the Premier League title in part because spending controls meant the most powerful clubs could not leave their less wealthy competitors so far behind as to make a miracle like 2016 impossible" -
oh man, TMO refusing to look at something again because Austin Healey on TNT Comms called for it to be reviewed

I imagine you're right, but this is also to either delay until our league position is determined, or to try and wriggle out of any immediate issues. Charged in championship, but then in Prem can we still be punished etc
