  1. come on. We never have been and never will be anything like South Americans. They have pride, passion and respect for themselves, we have keep calm and carry on. Jealous though, would love to go to the chocolate box
  2. Post above edited, it’s like I was never wrong. Good info tho cheers
  3. Agreed, not sure why it makes a difference that Michael Oliver et al were creaming the oil money midweek. Although not sure where your second point has come from!!! All those moving to Saudi to cash in are getting insane levels of abuse.
  4. Agreed. Liverpool looked fantastic with 9 men away to spurs, they’ll be up there at the end of the season and will no doubt get some big decisions go their way too
  5. Bournemouth got relegated because they were terrible. Fair enough there was no outcry about it, that was your point. I do think these dramas are played out more since var came in. In a pre var world Diaz is flagged off and that’s that. The issues are so clearly with the humans running the game, not the tech itself, improve them, no need to ditch the tech. The people saying ‘ditch var’ are prob the ones howling to hoof it up to Steve Howard everytime we have the ball
  6. Spot on. The ‘hugely competitive teams’ the previous poster alluded to are all turd. That’s why it’s a competitive league, made up of loads of mediocre teams scrapping with each other. We aren’t mediocre and 20% of the season in haven’t had to lift a finger
  7. I disagree and don’t think we’re playing with fire at this level, where the opposition are poor. Yes todays goal was directly attributable to the method of play, but you’re forgetting how many goals playing this way has, and will continue to, create for us. I love it but if we try and do it for 90 mins next l season in the prem we’ll be battered
  8. Are there any active f1 forums people use? I have looked on google and there doesn’t appear to be. I am going to Austin in a few weeks and wondering how we get from downtown to the circuit, without using the horribly overpriced shuttle bus
  9. I completely agree. They want their cake (millions of $$$$) and to eat it (play as little as possible). There has to be compromise. You can reduce the schedule and earn less. Or keep increasing the schedule and keep earning more. I guess this is why these people are at the top of a ruthless global industry, they won’t compromise, they want it all.
  10. Lincoln play at about 5% of the pace the elite players do.
  11. Omg. So many questions.. isn’t he watching the game?!! How did he not know the onfield decision was offside, when even I did whilst cursorily watching at the pub. Isn’t there communication between ref and var? How did he not realise his error when the goal was not given and the game restarted? Madness
  12. Understood on both counts, thanks. So the human error was it not even being passed to var?!?! That is incredible if so. I love the drama of the PL though
  13. ??? Wolves got denied a blatant pen at old Trafford and it got days of airtime and rightly so
  14. The human error is the Lino calling it offside right? And then var system clearly was just not working, therefore no lines drawn. That’s how I’ve interpreted the statement anyway. Similar to when in cricket DRS is not working
  15. Haha yeh just read the post above. Will have to watch motd
  16. Have they?!? Ok that renders my last sentence above redundant. Farcical.
  17. Come on!! It was clearly and obviously onside! Your ‘calibrated system’ is outweighed by my eyes lol. There is no doubt that goal was onside and var has made a mistake. They should come out and apologise, methinks they won’t..
  18. Don’t do it, don’t hand these thugs any of your hard earned. There’ll be plenty of streams available
  19. Not true at all, atmosphere is a huge consideration when selling premier league football rights, shown by the rebate given during behind closed doors matches in covid. Broadcasters have suggested an 18-24 ticket bracket, but there are concerns over this age group being on smartphones throughout matches and acting like 'customers' - i.e. making a racket for 20 minutes, then if they're not entertained, sitting down and being bored/leaving early. The design of modern 'bowl' stadiums means noise flows outwards rather than stays in, which is why TV love Spurs' ground as it is specifically designed like a concert hall to keep all noise in. I have a counterpart who is a sports lawyer who deals with broadcast rights, they absolutely want a good atmosphere.
  20. Yeh the stadium is a shed. Rumour is they have killed off the club to get the land sold off for a hotel development that has been blocked for years, then the club will form again. Either way there’s absolutely no chance it’s due to a lack a funds, that’s a bare faced lie. There’s so much wealth on the island and people love the club. They could have a whip round upstairs on a match day and raise a few hundred k.
  21. Fair enough! Good on you and I wish you every success for putting yourself out there and trying to make a difference. You know better than me so I won't argue with your explanation, and agree it is more fun when everyone is having a laugh, making noise etc. But I think the 'turning up out of habit' crew isn't just coach 1, they get so much stick but there are presumably 1000s of negative melts below the age of 60 who are just waiting to bash the club for everything. Many of them were on here last season saying they won't renew, but unfortunately probably did renew. The sooner this lot get washed out the sooner things will brighten up, I think
  22. No it's not finished. We have an active and engaged fan group that have set up a section specifically designed to create an atmosphere. It requires time, patience, investment and consistent plugging away. And to wash out all of the 'clubs a shambles mate shambles omg shambles clubs gone mate shambles' types that will inevitably drag everything down.
  23. https://www.jerseyreds.je/news_article/jersey-reds-financial-challenges-lead-to-club-ceasing-trading/ Jersey reds, top of the second tier last season, cease trading. I believe they are funded through a few people based here as a 'labour of love' - so hopefully this is just a smoke screen to get said dudes to pay up. Hope so as well, really boring sport but they do the corporate side really well and we are regulars there, due to be there next Friday v Ealing
  24. Almost forgot what it’s like to play against an organised team with pace, purpose, aggression, fitness etc. Looking forward to chilling out on Sunday and back to facing an unorganised mess of a champo team. McAteer is quality. I lost interest in watching in the second half
