This is a particularly grating happy clapper comeback to the reduction argument. A) it's obvs more than 1% as we basically outsource our production of everything ever. B) whatever our share is it's about creating a pleasant and non emissions choking environment for you and your family to live in surely?

Yeh but we're not a franchise (yet)

Isn't that the same praise/criticism angle for all politicians? Why are Farage and Trump liked - 'because they get it yeh they fight for the people.' She clearly messed up her taxes but she resigned and was cleared by the HMRC. The shoe has been on the other foot. Zahawi was fined by HMRC, found guilty and instead of resigning had to be pushed out by Sunak and went off crying about a smear campaign, an obvious lie perpetuated by the media who painted it as 'an attack on wealth creation.'

Yeh do not get this, the only reason I can think is they do not want the cost of opening the whole ground so would prefer keeping it to a few thousand contained in one stand. Whatever the rationale, it's bonkers

Happy clapper alert, this is why we urgently need to smash the establishment boomers #draintheswamp

This is why I said ‘without getting into history’ and specifically ‘Argentine pride’, although appreciate I didn’t make that clear. Argentine media have spun their happy clappers into a froth about the falklands, how the story is painted in the uk is totally redundant and irrelevant. With the incoming arrival of Farage into no.10 you must surely understand how national pride and rivaley, however misguided, works. Emotion outweighs logic, and imo that’s a great part of football and something those getting offended at this flag should understand

Yeh but FIFA rules are arbitrary, a nonsense and designed for commercial gain rather than common sense. Why can't we support Gaza during games? Why can we support Ukraine (which England have in the past) during games? Why has Donald Trump used the world cup for political gain if politics aren't allowed at the tournament? If an island near the UK was a self-governing American or other nation state territory, the happy clappers would be in a dribbling froth. Without getting into any history, you can understand Argentine national pride. if not, just don't get offended by 'free speech'

Yeh agreed on both counts. I've been to Argentina, great country, lovely and welcoming people, superb food, fantastic nature and countryside, not a happy clapper tourist in sight. Two matches I saw at Boca and River Plate were lifelong memories. Vividly remember riding a horse around in the sunshine at a gaucho farm whilst eating beef and drinking red wine that is unmatched in quality to anything I've tasted in Europe thinking 'this is a good life.' It is like Europe, just markedly better (if you earn in £ or $ and hence can afford the good stuff). Also cannot understand why so many happy clappers have got so offended at that banner after the England match. It's just a banner, relax you wokey wetwipes, rivalry is the best thing about this sport. Seemingly the happy clappers want a soft sport where we all play happy families and have a lovely half time show before Tom Cruise says how great we all are during a hydration break. These people are ruining our game.

Tbf would like to go to that region, Bordeaux and down to Bilbao. Keep hearing about all the Michelin star chefs in Bilbao and need to explore it. Lol the trade between France and jersey is hilarious. They send their boats to us loaded with drugs. Jersey people on the commercial ferry back from st malo stocked up with laundry powder, washing up liquid, various household goods because it’s so much cheaper there
-
That’s excellent, very jealous!! Have a great trip
-
I find France an incredibly dull and overpriced holiday destination, would rather spend a few days on the British coastline for scenery, or cities for food and good times. However St Malo/Dinard is actually nice, it's a common after work dinner trip or weekend booze day from Jersey if someone is willing to take their boat out. Dinard got written up in the FT today - Why the ‘Cannes of the north’ is back in vogue

I won a bit of work from an existing client at work. The absolute drone happy clappers in compliance were too stupid and lazy to onboard it in time so I did the work ‘for free as a sign of our ongoing relationship.’ Wildly p1ssed me off as it affects my numbers due to incompetence of happy clappers. Well today it all worked for the best as the client said they’ll donate a proportion of the proposed fee to a charity of my choice. The bridge is far more deserving of the fee than my company

No idea what happy clapper actually means but it is a hilarious term. You do sound like a happy clapper as an addendum to this post -

Expertly written. One of my friend's was there, his increasingly rambling messages and videos into Monday morning made it clear he had a great time. I went to the Azteca for a match in 2023, it is an incredible arena -

I wrote a post pretty much exactly like this yesterday! I follow your trajectory almost exactly. After WC 2014, coinciding with city getting good and working/partying more I lost interest. Culminating in the semi final in 2021 when Kane scored the pen and I almost stood still at Wembley. Mexico game was brilliant, really up for Saturday now. Maybe it is coinciding with city becoming useless again. Thankfully I have not become one of those happy clappers who translate the loss of hope, ambition and energy in their own lives to 'modern football being a shambles mate it's all a shambles lost love of the modern game shambles' -
I thought I was becoming a down-on-life, bedraggled happy clapper during the Southgate years as I was not bothered at all about England, despite it being the best period of performance in my lifetime. I tried to be interested but I couldn't. At the semi final in 2021 I wanted Kasper to save Kane's pen and barely celebrated at the ground when he scored. Well back into it after last night and looking forward to sat night. Just like my teenage years.
