  1. True, talk to only your base (both current and intended) via the requisite concerns is a vote winner
  2. To be fair, isn’t that all parties?
  3. The reason this and other Country’s are in peril, is because we are set against each other by significant actors, be they parties, individuals, companies, ethereal institutions, or others funded by these. This attitude of righteousness prevents empathy and compromise and where victory is seen as a lack of moving from one’s original point of view. Basically listening has been replaced by shouting.
  4. Because politicians are the last people who should be in politics
  5. You undo so much great work so readily. It is not a zero sum game.
  6. Assume it is because one persons boundary is another persons repression, and social media gives a voice to all, those feeling repressed will always be louder than those in discomfort. I agree with the sentiment wholeheartedly though.
  7. Blimey, yes. We need decentralisation of democracy (again with teeth) and not even more centralisation of powers, as you become utterly dependent upon the benevolent dictator type. Grim fact is that a local self interested local dictator is less damaging to the world than one who has a wider reach.
  8. Too quick Had made an edit to similar effect
  9. Disagree. Think of it like the internet, the issue is that systems will only be as true as those who proliferate their existence. Such parochial concepts as open source, public wikis seem to provide a template for independence and freedom, but now they are corrupted by, in this instance, right wing powers, then these seemingly incorruptible forums are now merely tools for the greedy and hubristic to further their own ends. edit :- just so as not to end on a total downer, the answer is hopefully in a humanistic society that will unavoidably evolve from the current version that promotes greed and selfishness amongst the many, delivering only to those who structure it thus.
  10. Used to believe that a single point of truth would benefit mankind, but this has been demonstrated as naive by the more right wing aspects of modern society, as the populace often does not want truth, it wants easy or cheap or <insert current concern> and if it can be promised, not even delivered, then it is a rallying point, and truth is thus drowned out. Of course, if you can’t promise it, just point over there, and the problems remain unsolved, but it then belongs to someone else. Different form of accountability required.
  11. Reid arrived when we seemed to be looking for utility, players who can play in many positions, but as we found, a team of Jack-of-all-trades falls some distance short of the required level.
  12. Guess we see things different, both with limited evidence. Be quite dull if we all saw things the same!
  13. Newcastle is a funny one, they may not have the baked in glamour of the big-six, but they now have a different sort of fame, which can only help with recruitment and kudos. If we were to limit recruitment to those players willing to relocate, we would massively reduce the pond we could fish in, as Leicester has some nice bits no doubt, but asking a highly mobile workforce to commit to moving is a further disincentive in my opinion.
  14. The same club that barely says anything? Come on you are teaching with that!
  15. Your clearly assume the worst, that's your choice.
  16. We are far closer to Leicester and hold it to an impossibly high standard, as is our right. But perhapd you have some more forensic visibility on Newcastle. With Winks there is nothing to see here, so he looks glum, good, nobody included in recent seasons should be doing cartwheels.
  17. I think Pearson would recognise the change in player power and behaved as best served the club.
  18. I fear your last statement is the reality, only here for the beer mentality. Suppose you would ask that if you have no reason to come to the area outside of football, why come here as we are but one of many? London or more fashionable locations certainly have a head start in this area, and it's not really for those incoming to improve the allure. As fans it's easy
  19. No amount of money should mean someone is inherently expected to discard their current life. (There is a reason player power, not club power, is on the rise - not agreeing with that either) But this is just faux fan outrage, sorry. It has zero sense in reality, perhaps when football clubs had more localised focus rather than brand focus, but not now.
  20. Such disrespect that you cannot spell Vardy after all this time.
  21. Assume Ayew will be transitioned out of the line up over several months, and even then he will feature on occasion due to injuries/fitness. He only a year left, sure we can tough it out
  22. Maybe he has got sick of football, and has enough stashed away?
  23. Expected more from Marti.....
  24. That’s some big talk right there……. (I must not trash talk nacho….I must not trash talk nacho…..)
  25. Both good ages - so yeah, that sort of thing.
