You are 100% missing the point! Winks can be decent, but has looked no bothered inconsistent, whereas you know Soumare is lazy and limited, but you can plan for that, its more difficult with Winks.

Don`t agree, it is not better for a manager to have a decent player who may or may not try, than one who you already know won`t give you the effort you want. Better to plan with knowledge not with hope. Anyway, lets hope Soumare goes and a new CM arrives soon to alleviate this problem.

Depends on the nature of the loss. A loss due to lack of effort would be a massive concern, a loss due to a deflection off a seagull, whilst not great, would not be quite so concerning.
