  1. In Summary: Chris Wilder’s style combines tactical innovation (notably overlapping centre-backs), high-intensity pressing, direct attacking transitions, and strong defensive organization. His Sheffield United side in the Premier League (2019–20) is considered one of the best examples of this approach.
  2. A more open net has never been seen
  3. Forgive my mediocrity comment in relation to earlier years, as you are right, but it was regrettably before my time. Yes, suppose the flip flopping years was in my mind with the mediocrity comment. One of the issues we face now, along with poor decisions off the back of some success, is the forensic nature of it all. This level of inspection was not really possible previous to the mid 90s? The event of money have also driven a wedge between supporters and clubs. However, not all clubs fail at these challenges to the same degree we have of late, so are right to expect better.
  4. Dwight McNeil?
  5. Saw a parachute above the training ground, and it looks like Rohl with an armful of legit new shirts.

  7. Not really……some bloke in Evington just put a tenner on it is all
  8. You know what the term betting means right? ….and you are welcome.
  9. In the stands then…..
  10. I am not even sure he comes to us if/when he manages to negotiate his exit from Wednesday.
  11. I know it’s a first game, it’s about fitness, and it means nowt, but it still exciting to see a couple of the young lads start.
  12. People would rather spend time moaning about clothing than discussing the team, tactics and hopes for the season. Each to their own.
  13. Yes, but donkey blankets come first, priorities.
  14. Whatever way it has panned out, there is no denying the fact we missed out on golden opportunity to become an ever present. Not sure if it was just incompetence, or incompetence plus hubris (and maybe a little bit of not being able to adapt to changing market conditions, something that was always going to affect us more than the traditional clubs with massive commercial bases) Either way, we were like a rabbit in the headlights of unexpected success and our lack of meaningful action crippled us.
  15. Suppose the question is, what is more important? Fixing the culture for the long term, or promoting youth long term (Even it means further ingraining the dodgy culture into the youth setup) This thinking leads to an potentially unpopular conclusion though.
  16. Fair enough, and although have been supporting for decades, don’t really keep track on the clubs comms, so perhaps the latest incarnation of KP is the root cause of the general discontent. The manager thing I can see, as we don’t control the whole situation ( but man up and pick someone else if so) the rest seems totally fair.
  17. Nicely limbered up for Wilder reveal at half time then.
  18. Is the discontent caused by the fact we have succeeded in recent memory? Those stating long term support, must have been content by mediocrity for some time, to only then experience a period of previously unexpected success. Not suggesting the ‘we were shit, so just be happy’ cop out for the board, but what causes now to be so bad?
  19. Yes, I know. My comment was more a general thing for his start in the league. Sure the club would love to appoint King, they get unearned kudos, and they cannot really lose.
  20. Like it. Half-and-half live interview process.
  21. Will be interesting, as I am not sure they could bring in as manager who could claim more respect within the club. Could they leave him as manager if he starts well? Hmmm
  22. Agree. Seems some people just have to able to blame someone for anything/everything, its really odd.
