Realistic Managerial Replacements

We have to move with the times. Look at Bournemouth, Brighton and Palace. All with managers with no previous experience in this country. Same in the championship with Bristol City and QPR. -
Realistic Managerial Replacements

As much as I’d like Svensson and Rydstrom our recent appointments suggest we never get anyone without previous experience in this country. Carvahal would be imo a decent choice. I’m not that convinced on Lage. Wolves seemed to fall away dramatically when he was there. There’s some decent foreign options out there that are readily available who want to manage in this country. The two that stand out are - Diego Martinez and Adi Hutter. Hutter is extremely unlikely with where we are but I think Martinez could be attainable. As I’ve stated the problem is we don’t hire anyone unless they’ve got previous experience in this country. -

I’m hoping Norwich do and get Martin in. With him being an ex player I live in hope he ends up anywhere but here. Who would you have who’s currently available? -

That’s where we are now. I’d rather we look at Dave Challinor or Ritchie Wellens. But it’s obvious it’ll be Martin. -

Would add Carrick to that list. Not that I’d want him. Can’t see anything wrong with appointing an ex Man Utd player…….. -

Looking at the odds for the Southampton job will be a mirror image of us if we get rid of Cifuentes. So based on that and the fact we won’t look at anyone who hasn’t managed in this country and has to be readily available it’s gonna be one of - Hassenhutl, Gary O’Neil, Martin, Carvahal, or Wagner. I think it’ll be Martin unless Southampton are stupid enough to reappoint him. -
I think they were expecting promotion this season. I don’t think they have any sort of long term plans in place. It’s very much short term. I’m not suggesting we will but promotion doesn’t do us any good whatsoever. Only financially. We would continue to yo-yo.
-
I’m thinking more long term. I’m not suggesting a rebuild consists of just this season.
-
I’m getting round to that way of thinking. We desperately need another Pearson type rebuild. Him and Wellens should be who we are looking for that.

Wolves have sacked Pereira. -
It’s what we need. A Pearson mk2 rebuild. You just know we’ll end up with Russell Martin though.
-
I wouldn’t mind if Cifuentes at least tried a different approach tactically. He doesn’t. It’s just change the personal and stick with the same system that hasn’t worked for 60 mins.
-
I know he’ll never get a look in here but Dave Challinor should be under consideration. Has done an incredible job at Stockport and his contract is up next summer. A rebuild is needed and he’s the sort of manager we should be looking at.
-
It’s all very well getting rid of him but who’s going to come in and back young players to be the nucleus of the squad? They’ll stick with safe option. Cifuentes should have done that at the start of the season instead he stuck with the experienced shit we’re stuck with. We basically have the Spanish Steve Cooper in charge. What makes it even more depressing is that Russell Martin is a certainty to take over with these clowns in charge.

Worst recent signing?
winteriscoming replied to LeePhilpottsBaldSpot's topic in Leicester City Forum
23.5m for Skipp yet we wouldn’t pay out the compensation for Corberan. Absolutely shocking but not surprising from us. -
At least early on in the season he was changing the system and trying something different. Yesterday he just changed personnel and kept the same system that hadn’t worked for 60 mins.
-
I’m not defending him but these clowns will appoint someone worse. Guaranteed to be Russell Martin.
-
He had the chance at the start of the season to put his stamp on the club and build it around the young players coming thru. Instead he went for the safe option of playing shit experienced players. 1 win in 9 is absolutely pathetic. I agree with the majority that the managerial appointment isn’t the major issue within in the club. It is above him and until Top sells up nothing will change but Marti really hasn’t helped himself.
-
We need a Pearson type bastard who doesn’t give a shit and will say how it is. Sadly these type of managers are a dying breed. I really don’t think Marti is what we need right now. He’s a yes man.
-
You just know it’s Mr Ego Russell Martin as the next manager.
-
I know it’s a stupid question because we won’t but is there anyone from abroad we should be looking at?
-
Tell me someone realistically we could get who’s better? Pearson isn’t coming back. We need that type of rebuild but who? I think we have to look at Wellens, Challinor and those type of lower league managers with something to prove. Unfortunately we won’t look abroad like we should.
-
He should go but I’m more concerned about who we get in to replace him. Maresca aside our recent recruitment has been shit.
