  1. Oh right, thanks. I missed that part of the Sunderland game …
  2. Maybe we can indeed play the two of them together. Vardy as the forward and Nacho in place of the Ndidi/attacking midfielder position. With Ndidi and Praet injured and Casedai not playing well, why not give it a go?
  3. No reference to Daka. Not used at all even when we chase the game, Guess Enzo really does not fancy him or there is really an astronomical cost in using him in the league.
  4. Opportunity to learn. Hope Enzo will. With the team we have, we should be creating far more chances than we have in the season so far, but Enzo’s style is long term though it has not gotten to the level that I am sure he wants to yet. This is a good learning lesson and I am sure he wants the players to continue to feel confident about playing positively and our style. However, we were always going to get found out if we do not improve. Our passing at the back has been suicidal at times but we were just lucky that at the championship level we were often not punished. Leeds employed an ultra intensive high press (which many EPL teams can do for long periods) and we struggled. We still have a lot to learn but fortunately we have months to do so at this level. What I am slightly concerned about is that our patient style will turn a bit into Rodgerball if we are afraid to attack. But patience can be a positive thing if it is more about waiting with belief rather than passing back out of fear. Big difference so hopefully we do not turn down the wrong path. So while disappointing this Leeds game needed to come to show us our weakness (what others have coined as us not getting out of first gear). I hope this helps Enzo and the team to find that second gear because I am not sure we actually have that developed in our arsenal yet. PS. I think a second gear involves playing quickly in transition. I have noticed that we have regressed in decision making recently with us choosing to pass backwards rather than try a forward pass in 50/50 situations but where the opposition is running back and out of shape. If we compare us with Man City, we don’t play like Man City much - Man City attack quick and they also do counter attacks. We almost don’t anymore.
  5. In fairness to him he cannot show what his has if he is sitting on the bench. He came on one game and within minutes he put in an excellent forward ball for Nacho whose first time shot was unfortunately saved (we still scored).
  6. We have been flat all season. This is a test against a proper opposition, a team that came down with us last season from the EPL. We are far from reaching what Enzo would want to be competitive in the EPL. If we play like this with our suicidal passing from the back we will be punished big time next year. Having said that it is a process as Enzo said and hopefully this helps give us a better perspective.
  7. You would think a professional team playing in the Champions League paying real money would know more than what a poster on FT thinks in his armchair and who has not put any money on this … Having said that, I am lying on my bed at the moment … and we do have managers and owners who don’t know what they are doing
  8. Equally it proved my point: “but not good enough for many fans of Championship Leicester City” 😂
  9. I don’t think he has proven himself but at the same time I agree he is not as bad as some fans make him out to be. Typical. Let’s not forget Rodgers played him as lone striker. Even Vardy the expert was not effective in that role the last few seasons because of Rodgers’ negative tactics with the ball rarely getting up to him. Daka playing that role was worst as he is not a lone striker plus he had very little service. His ball control is not great so when he had the ball 50 yards from goal or on the side he wasn’t able to do much - I noticed that. But what was he supposed to do with such little service and he is not a Nacho who can come deeper. I see him laughs in training and on the bench he looks content. I think Enzo said he is very professional. So I very much doubt him not playing has anything to do with Daka’s attitude. More that there is some commercial reason Enzo could not even give him 15 mins every now and then. It is not like our opposition is doing much against us these days (apart from Sunderland).
  10. Good enough for Sevilla and the Champions League, but not good enough for many fans of Championship Leicester City 😂 He was Rodgered. Fans slammed him just after a few matches here and there while he never got a consistent run. Never understood that. I thought he had a few excellent displays nonetheless including when Dean first came in. He is probably not the Enzo type of player but a very decent player nonetheless. If Enzo can turn Ndidi into an attacking midfielder, imagine what Enzo could do with Soumare who has much better ball control and good passing ability in him.
  11. It won’t be as easy in the Premier League.
  12. Actually, don’t be so complacent. We are only 25 points above safety.
  13. I have to say he should be ahead of Fatawu. Fatawu is still too raw and his decision making suspect. He scored but in a way he was a bit clumsy in doing so. Nothing compared to the goal Yunus scored for Turkey. In any event, from what I have seen so far, Yunus has better control of the ball than Fatawu. I guess Fatawu has more explosive pace and perhaps the reason why he has been playing so far.
  14. Impressive performance. Best so far in my view. Defended well but his composure on the ball is quite another thing. What a new signing we have for this season (we all thought he would be gone). Certainly who would have thought he would be ahead of Coady and Souttar?
  15. The undermining bit had been around for a good 2-3 years prior. It is part of the negativity instilled by Rodgers - much of it due to him wanting to make himself look good at the expense of his players and the club and part of it his natural style (too risk averse).
  16. In my view, our relegation was worst than the notable relegations noted in the lead post. Leeds - they were in financial ruins and had to already sell many key players before their relegation. Blackburn - their squad was not that much more superior compared to others as ours was. Despite having had so many players leave on a free or gone out on loan plus the sale of Maddison and Barnes - most if not all have gone to top teams/leagues - and that: - our wage bill is still more than at least 9 clubs currently in the Premier League; - we are so far ahead of other teams in the Championship, it goes to show just how our squad should not be anywhere near relegation. Ours is quite a different story compared to others. Even not looking at mismanagement at the corporate level, purely on the basis of the squad, we have been mismanaged in terms of - coaching - team selection - tactics (yes Rodgers did not get the wingers he needed and the club made a big mistake in not getting Lookman, though Rodgers should still be able to adjust tactics and also he still had the likes of Albrighton, Perez and even Praet who can play but he never liked them) - motivation and mentality (this was by far the worst for me) Rodgers said he likes to coach and improve players. However, the reality seemed quite different and at the least he managed to get a team to play much worst than the sum of the individuals added together. (Usually, a great coach gets the team to be better than the sum of the individuals added together).
  17. https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/premier-league-wage-bill-ranking-comparison-league-position With a wage bill of around £60-65m (around mid August so this does not take into account the transfers made towards the end of August), we have the biggest wage bill in the Championship. The lowest is around £2m. Incredibly, despite a massive wage cut during the summer, we still have a wage bill of more than 9 clubs in the EPL according to the above link. No wonder we were deemed to have too good of a squad to have been relegated and to be now playing in the Championship. Having said that, Southampton has a massive wage bill too despite so many departures during the summer. They should be doing much better and may still do so going forward.
  18. The money they are on now is phenomenal. We are grateful to have had them, but I hope they also appreciate the break they had been given by Leicester. Some talented players for whatever reason don’t rise to the top like them (and for them top of the earners’ chart). Mendy for example wasted his prime with us sitting on the bench, when he is providing again playing Champions League football for Lens that while he is not worldclass he was quite a decent player. He could have achieved and earned more had he had a break with us. Anyway just tracking to say that what why are earning now is crazy.
  19. Another win. 3 points. But with Stoke losing no threat whatsoever, it is a tad disappointing we chose to pass backwards when there is a good run forward into space. Hazma made zero useful forward pass today. Quite disappointed with him on that. Others did ok. Vesty looked comfortable again and Souttar did ok too. Fatawu had a game to forget apart from the one pass to Ndidi before the second goal. Happy to see Vardy score again.
  20. Vardy had space. No pass.
  21. Slowed down or passed back too many times when in good position in the final third. Something to work on.
  22. Can we send on Daka please.
  23. Where as Fatawu is having a terrible game.
  24. This is not going to be enough to play in the PL.
  25. Oh dear. Winks should have released Nacho there on the counter. He is not Maddison.
